I didn't have any post op reports to give Dr. B, yet I still had a TR on 1-17-08. My lengths are 3 and 5.5.The reason I had the surgery to begin with was to be open to God's procreative will and to ease my PTLS..... So BOTh objectives have been accomplished. "IF" I conceive then that would just be icing on the cake...

Dear whydididoit, I am sorry that you are having a hard time getting your records. You do not have to have your records to schedule your surgery. Dr. Berger is able to repair tubes in 98% of the cases. We have had many patients come for surgery who could not retrieve a copy of their records. If you would like more of an assurance regarding outcome, we do offer a Screening Laparoscopy Package option to all of our patients with a body mass index (BMI) of less than 30. The screening laparoscopy and possible tubal reversal are done in one operation. This way you do not have to undergo anesthesia and surgery twice. You are put to sleep and Dr. Berger starts by performing a screening laparoscopy. If there is adequate tube remaining to complete the repair, Dr. Berger will make the incision for the reversal and complete this surgery. There is an additional fee of $1,000.00 for the Screening Laparoscopy Package. If Dr. Berger only performs screening laparoscopy and does not perform any tubal repair, you will receive a partial refund.
Please let me know if you have other questions or if I can assist you with anything. I look forward to hearing from you. RhondaB@tubal-reversal.net

Dr. M, I think it would be great to see something about the psychological effects of infertility and of trying to conceive after TR. The process is like a roller coaster of emotions that I don't think I could have ever imagined going in... It might be beneficial to provide strategies to help couples with the emotional side of waiting for that sticky BFP. Bonnie TR 10-27-06 TR Baby due 11-5-08

Keep the suggestions coming. We like to keep our patients informed. Many times we write these blog entries with information we think is important but oftentimes it is good to stop and find out what patients really want to hear about.

Here are some good suggestions by Scarlet04
"I know you asked for the girls to let you know the responses their getting when dealing with their Dr.'s about TR but what about a blog that helps us explain to our Dr.'s what they need to know in dealing with us as TR patients that have become pregnant and some of the misconceptions that doctors have about the success rate of TR's with pregnancy. It took me calling 6 different OB doctors offices to finally get someone to take me seriously. I kept referring them to your website.
The doctor I did find, sees a TR patient of yours and she is currently 7 months pregnant. She was totally excited to have me as a 2nd TR patient of yours. Dr. Berger, do you do very many public forums or conferences for Dr.'s to attend? I know you have patients from all over the world come to see you and that would be a big audience to try to get your message out to but I don't think many Dr.'s are doing their research on the internet or they just don't know to look for you." I personally would love to hear your thinking on what a woman can do after TR to increase her chances of a sticky BFP. Any advice for us after TR that would make our journey a bit easier, what tests that you think are important., ect? What you would recommend before going through the TR procedure to make our chances of conceiving higher?
After TR I realized that a women could have more going on with her body that just her tubes being tied. For example; FSH levels in women under 40 or undiagnosed thyroid issues. All of these things can hinder a woman’s chances of having a healthy pregnancy.
I researched for many years before I decided to have my TR done. It was after TR that I found out this info. TR is a HUGE decision and GREAT expense for the most of us. Those of us that are TTC after TR would love to increase CHTRC statistical data for live births.

We would like patients to submit ideas for Doctors Blog.
We would like to keep patients informed on issues regarding tubal ligation reversal both before and after surgery.
We would like patients to submit topics to us on the message board.
Please submit topics you would want our staff to discuss. Topics should be related to tubal ligation, reversal, or after surgery (recovery or early pregnancy in tubal ligation reversal patients).
