So I was digging around trying to find instructions because I am lazy : ) I know how to do it but wanted to make sure I got all the details for you. Here is what I found:
Here's How:
Create a budget. In order for the envelope system to work, you need to know how much money you have coming in and how much money you have going out. Start by creating a budget that reflects your current financial situation. Divide your spending into categories. Look over your budget, and divide it into areas of spending: food, gas, clothing, entertainment, etc. Then create an envelope for each category. No need to be fancy; a plain, white envelope with the category written on the front will do. Fill your envelopes Fill each envelope with the money that you've allotted to that particular category. Spend until the money is gone. Pay for your purchases out of the appropriate envelopes – using the food envelope for food purchases and the clothing envelope for clothing purchases – but only until the money is gone. At that point, all spending in the drained category must cease until the next month. Put any leftover money into savings. If you have any money left in your envelopes at the end of the month, add it to your savings or use it to pay down a debt. Refill again the next month. Refill the envelopes, and start again. Each month is a new shot at making your budget work. Tips:
Tweak your category allocations over the first few months until you arrive at numbers that work for you. If you're not used to paying for your purchases with cash, it may take a few months to adjust to the envelope system. Don't beat yourself up if you run out of money before the month is over. Just try harder to stay on budget the next month. If a monthly envelope system doesn't work for you, try a weekly or bi-weekly envelope system. The goal is to create a system that works for you. Does the idea of carrying cash make you nervous? No problem. You can use your debit card and still use the envelope system. Just subtract each purchase on the back of the appropriate envelope, and stop spending when you get to zero. What You Need:

Marcie are you talking about the envelope system? If so give me your email address and I can send you more info on how to do it. I have a book that explains everything. I may have some free time this weekend to sit down and type something up. DD is having a slumber party Sat. so once things quiet down I will sneak off into the computer room and put something together.

Best Wishes in your savings, ladies! I know it is very hard to be patient. Our family is a credit card free family. It was REALLY hard to know we have a perfect credit score, and could get plenty of credit to have the surgery, and all the travel expenses...we just believed that if this was truly in God's plan for us, that He would provide a way to get out there all the way from Northern Idaho, and have the surgery. We didn't think that using a credit card to pay for something we didn't have the money for was right for us, if we were keeping with that plan.
He did provide! We made saving for the TR a priority above our other personal desires, and we saved rather quickly once that decision was made.
I had my TR on 7/30, and I'm about 8 weeks pregnant now. It is amazing to have my body completely given over to the Lord for Him to use as He wills.
I'm praying all of you ladies to be able to restore your bodies as quickly as He sees fit! Thanks for letting me share the similarities with the savings desires!

Hi everyone, I am new to this page and reading what everyone else is saying. I just sent off my medical release form where I had my tubal ligation done, all dh and I can do now is hope for good news that I can have the tubal reversal done. We have started saving the money and I am hoping for a July/August09 tubal reversal. I am hopeful but also very afraid that my results will say that I cannot have tubal reversal done.

How is the saving going? I am recycling pop cans for extra cash. Yesterday my dd and I returned some and got 15.00 back. I work at a University and in charge of the computer labs. I have to bins to recycle cans so we are gonna start putting that extra money away in savings.

I am starting something new in our small town. I am starting a frugal moms club. We will do coupon exchanges, freezer meal exchanges (everyone brings a dish that you can freeze to exchange), budget help, small crafts (maybe used for fund raising). I figure the more we help each other out the better off we are. It will also help me with my money saving plans.

Hi, it's so encouraging to see so many of you doing the same thing I am. Somewhat like Kim, I'm doing the envelope system, but Chapel Hill is my envelope. I have just sent the initial payment to start my pre-payment program. I have a tentative date set for myself to have all the money saved by March '09. And to have the TR done the 1st week of April. I am 33 and had my tubes "tied" since '03. I am newly remarried, and we want to have a child to add to our loving family. I pray for you all and hope for the best. Don't give up! If I can do it, anyone can!

Truly Blessed.... Where did you find the info on places that my help with funding for the TR? I think that the financial aspect of this is what has put our decision off for the past few years. I get to the decision making part of it thenit seems like something ALWAYS comes up and the funds have to go else where! I know that you said that the place wont fund it all but I will be thrilled just to get me started....If you have any ifon, please pass it this way and I will as well. Thanks and God bless!

Truely Blessed - I looked into the same organization saving for TR, but was fortunate enough to have God provide the money needed without signing up with them. I too felt that putting my body back the way God made it was vital to my health as I suffer from PTLS and no doctors could offer any help that made sense. I found CHTRC online and knew it was where God was calling me. I had my surgery on 09/22/08 and I know I made the right choice and was in God's favor because I started to see improvement within the 1st week!! If God it leading you He will also provide. If you would like, email me at ctzoocrew at aol dot com and we can talk some more. My daughter's name is Faith, because that it what we said we needed in life, and God gave us a daughter, so it just seemed to fit. (she was born before TL.) God Bless you on this road, and I look forward to talking more. Sarah

I did some research and found an organization that helps raise money for TR - it doesn't pay for all of it but it will help out a LOT. It is based on putting your body back to the way God made it and letting him guide you for birth control. Now I know not everyone is agreeable to that but in the end our bodies are the one thing God gave us control of and we have the right to give control over to him. Now I am not going to complain over how many babies he gives me after TR, I am just hoping that he blesses the finances that go along with raising those babies! he he he.
I am hoping that it won't take long for my name to get to the top of the funding list and hope that we have the funds either in a year - though if we could have them around my birthday, which is the end of May or the beginning of Aug, which is my hubby's bday that would be an awesome gift! I am waiting to send my reports and such until it is closer to the time that TR is possible. The idea of my reports just hanging around collecting dust just doesn't quite give the hope in the heart feeling. And I am all about Hope - which just so happens to be a name for a girl if I should have one, and Faith is the other name.
