I went to a Dr a week ago and my Dr put me of a 1200 calorie diet i can eat whatever i want but i
have to stay within 1000-1200 calories but he likes his female patients closer to 1200.He stated that if a women drops below 1000 its bad on there female parts and can cause a women to stop having a cycle.I use the website calorie king and i put in what i want to eat and it will tell you how many calories it is. I found keeps a book of everything i eat has helped alot (i thought it would be a pain at first but it really makes you think before you eat.I also bought the Calorie King book for when im out.Its small and fits in your purse and has most of the fast food places around and the calories in things they serve. I also have to walk 30 minutes a day 5 times a week which isnt no time at all.(I am on medication also). Today is only day 6 for me and ive lost 8 pounds.
I have already had my TR in feb.06 but with 3 years of trying to conceive and multi M/C and Ectopics i have gained over 50 pounds since i got
lazy after Tr thinking i would get pregnant and the weight was OK now im way overweight and feel tired 24/7 so im now giving it my all.

nicksprincess, if you go to the Chapel Hill Home Page and look under Scheduling, there is a link about halfway down to the BMI Calculator. That will take you to their BMI Calculator and you can find out that at 5'3" you have to be at 197 for a BMI of 34.9. But I have heard that CHTRC scales run you a little heavier and you have to be at or below 34.9 or they will make you reschedule. So you would probably want to make sure you have some cushion and get to 190 or less.

I am 5'0" and currently at 185 (36.1). I need to buckle down and get at least 10 pounds off.

I was losing (4.5 all at once) but then stopped--I think it is because my calorie intake was too low! I am creating a better diet and changing my walking to jogging for half the time! Buckled down a bit too hard! Hopefully everything works out!

They measured my height at 5'3" so I figured I could be 190 and still be under the BMI for surgery.

Thank you everyone! This weekend (Sunday), I slipped a little, but it wasn't too bad so I am hoping to get back in the swing today and this week. My kids keep reminding me that I am on a diet (helpful in a way!), I just did a HPT with a BFN-I don't know what I was thinking...here's hoping, right? Well, I think it just depressed me... (I am a soon-to-be TR patient) I am sure that EVERY TL mom has taken dozens of HPT just hoping, am I right or crazy?? [Frown]

Cheadlemon,

I was worried about my BMI. I lost 24 pounds and I had my TR on 5/8/09. Losing the weight is hard, but have faith in your self. What I did was started drinking water (that was hard), I stopped drinking as many soft drinks. With my career I do not have alot of time for excersise so I would take stairs when I good, I even used the stairs at home.CH scale was different from mine. So I would try to lose an extra 4 pounds, because if it is time for AF then you need to be concerned about water weight. I hope this helps and I know how hard it is to lose the weight. Good luck with your TR.

Wow Sacramento is about 3hrs away from me. How much did you want to lose before having the TR? I have lost about 20 pounds with Weight Watcher's but have not had much time for exercise since all three of my children are in baseball so between practices & games I dont have much free time at all. So when do you think your having the surgery? I am still saving the money, I have sent them money each month but still need to save another $1500

Hey Aimee, we are actually in Sacramento! I was hoping for June date, but it looks like I have to push it off a bit! I want to diet smart-I don't want to hurt myself or make a less than desirable body for a new baby to be calling home! Good luck to you sweetheart!
