Thanks, I figured it must be for our own safety. Unless someone at the office gets repulsed by feet and just doesn't want to see them! LOL j/k!
I remember when I had my TL I wore pajama bottoms for almost a whole week. I was so swollen and bloated I couldn't go anywhere near my jeans. I'll most likely wear a pair of pajama bottoms for this surgery too.
BTW...Anne367 I see you are from Fond Du Lac. I am in Appleton. Nice to see another "Wisconsinite". My OBGYN recommended Chapel Hill for my surgery so I'm pretty comfortable with choosing them, but it is nice to see someone on here from close by.

No to the flip flops because you are unsteady on your feet so they want something that stays on your feet better so you don't slip or trip and fall! So it's for your own safety! Also you want some clothes that are easy to get on because again you are unsteady after surgery and may even need help getting your clothes on!

I wore my crocs and I wore pjs and one of the nurses commented on how comfy my clothes looked because they were basically long shorts and a tshirt I got in the pj section at Target it was nice and comfy...the only people that see you are at the center and the few at the hotel and the shuttle driver who if it is Adam he works almost every day and is use to taking people back n forth to the TR center!

I would certainly wear something you feel comfortable sleeping in! After your surgery you'll return to the hotel probably very ready for a nap, so an outfit you feel comfortable wearing in public as well as in bed would be best.

Trust me, you're not gonna care what you look like when you've just had surgery. I walked the halls of the hotel the evening of my surgery in what I had worn to CH- printed jammie pants, a pink tee, and at that point, I was also in my slippers. I did not care. Unless you venture out like me, the only people who will see you are the front desk worker who sees us ladies every day and the staff at Chapel Hill. Just wear what you're comfortable in.

Always. When you cannot bend over to tie your shoes because you cannot see your feet. Forget it. You have better balance when you can feel the ground, especially when you cannot see it. LOL

I tell you what, if I did not have to wear shoes I wouldn't. LOL I grew up in Brazil, South America and only wore shoes when my dad made me in the evening to avoid the snakes. I live in my tennis shoes now, when I actually wear shoes. LOL
I had my TR 5/8/09, I had on lose fitting pants a shirt, I also wore socks and shoes so I could stay warm after the TR. About the clear liquids their is a foodlion close to the hotel and you get some of this when you check in. Good luck with your TR, I am home resting now.

There was a huge discussion a while back about flip flips, apparently they are now allowed at CHTRC. Just an FYI....unless something has changed.
