One thing that I do that is very easy is just pay for stuff with dollar bills. For instance if I go somewhere and the total is 5.49 I give the cashier 6.00 and all the change goes into my piggy bank to be rolled at the end of the month. So far I have ended up with an average of $40.00 a month extra in just rolled coins.

I am gonna have a HUGE yard sale this summer, thats one plan...also we clean cabins in the summer, so thats an additional $200.00 per cabin on a Saturday! Maybe pick up a Part time cleaning job a few hours a week at a private home...put an ad in the local paper to advertise your services, if you work 10 hrs at $20.00 hr, thats $200.00 more a week toward your dream...just some ideas

I agree with Jeannie. Set up an account so you can't dip into it. Recycle? Any little extra bit, send it to your account. I like the idea of the list on the refrigerator and doing the count down.
We cut eating out, dropped text messaging and GPS navigation on the cell phone, lowered our Internet service, and sold 2 of my husbands vehicles to make ends meet AND pay for TR.

Jeannie's advice is the best. We pretended it was a "bill" and called in money often. I kept the total on the fridge and subtracted each payment and watched it dropped. It's the best way to keep yourselves out of the funds and not let other things take the money over..

We cut cable, cell phones, any thing and every thing that we did not need. Like eating out, we started cooking meals at home and they were better for us. Wish you all the best. Miranda

The pre-payment account is also a good idea. By sending your money here, you are less tempted to "dip into it". You need $250.00 or more to open the account, then send in payments as often as you like or can as long as they are at least $10.00 or more. Please feel free to contact us with any questions regarding this.

Instead of raising money - start saving on things. Lower your heat and air conditioning, and right away you'll save a bit on that. Shop on sale at the grocery, save your change and cash it in, cut out things like eating out, high cellphone minutes or usage, every penny really counts.
We started using cold water to wash years ago - BIG SAVINGS. We buy items on sale ONLY. We've cut back on entertainment and eating out, we cut vacation the year of my TR - and forced ourselves to call CH and make a payment every other week.
You can also pick up a part-time job for a while, waitressing is great extra cash or babysitting before/after school and weekend.
We didn't feel comfortable asking for donations either, but found we could cut a lot and save alot simply shopping and spending smarter. Cashing in your change also added up!

does anyone have any new ideas for raising $$ I'm not comfy with asking for donations and we have already yard-saled everything we didn't need. Any new ideas?
