paprika I also have that hardness around the incision. I had 2 c-sections years ago and had the same hardness but it does go away...just takes awhile. I also am going to see a new ob/gyn and also have no insurance (was laid off and now at new job but not long enough yet to get the insurance although I heard it is expensive at work). I don't go till Monday so I will find out then. Paula

I had my TR on May 20 and am not back into all of my pants yet. I was a size 6 for the first time in my life going in and now am back in my 8s and some loose small 10s. I guess if I get pregnant the size will be insignificant. LOL As far as the pricing, You can probably get on Medicaid depending on your income. I know that you can get on it most likely after the pregnancy is confirmed, but right at the beginning it might be tricky. If you get your local health department to confirm your pregnancy you can probably get Medicaid right away. Again it all depends on your family size and income. Just a thought. I am hoping to get a BFP while we still have insurance, before we might move. Take Care. Heather

A hardness or "healing ridge" is normal beneath the incision and will soften after several weeks. If you develop a temperature of more than 100° F, redness, or discharge from the incision, call our office. Swelling is also normal but decreasing your salt intake may help it go away quicker. Hope that helps, Lori RN

yes, the ridge and little bit of swelling is normal. I don't recall exactly when the swelling totaly went away and I still have a ridge you can feel if you press on my incision area. MY TR was May 4. As fas as meeting with the new dr, I would go over the pregnancy protocal recommended and see if they are on board with it. I can't help you with the pricing stuff- I have no idea on that one! Good luck!

It's been almost 4 weeks since the surgery and I know that it isn't going to heal over night, but, I have this hard lining surrounding the incision. Is that normal? I am also still a bit swollen. I never had a c-section or had any other type of surgery besides my knee so, this is a bit strange for me. Can someone tell me if this normal??? I am meeting an OB/GYN tomorrow, haven't needed one in 11 years and I no longer live in the same town, is there anything specific I should ask due to the surgery? I no longer have any insurance, and my husbands employer does not offer it. I was wondering if there are any other women in this position and if they could tell me about the pricing for the pregnancy bloodwork and ultrasounds.
