It was like a chore, a scientific esperiment, at first, but then we some-how managed to get out of that mode and slip into the enjoyment of actually making love, not just BD (I think you get what I mean). We BD twice yesterday and I was actually wanting another session! Now THAT is totally unheard of for me.

oh, I might add that sometimes if it seems like it's becoming a chore with the main goal not being intimacy but a baby, it can cause problems, even with the healthiest of relationships, so tread lightly

InHisHands, IF your DH has no issues with his sperm, it really doesn't matter how often you BD. Typically, it's advised that you BD every other day. If you BD every day, the sperm don't have enough time to mature and regenerate, and so that may cause problems. If you BD infrequently, the sperm begin to get too old and die off and there are fewer there to fertilize an egg. That, along with the life cycle of an egg being 24 hours, is why it is reccomended EOD. HTH

I used OPK prior to my TR to help me understand my cyles.
I am going to brag,we got a good BD life, so you can gloat too. I dont think it's TMI. I think it's wonderful.
But I did stop showing my BD life off on fertility friend because I felt like I "putting" it out there too much. I just want to know cause I can't always remember exactly what day and I want to know if I may have caught the eggy at the right time. This month we are trying to take it down a notch closer to O to see if it helps build up the swimmers.

Good Morning Ladies, We definitely take "time off for good behavior", LOL. Approaching O, maybe every other day or two, and usually after O once or twice is all. It seems like we are either worn out or I am sore, so we stop for a few days and try to get 1 or 2 times in before AF shows, just for DH because I could go without after all the BDing around O. All these years, since TL, we were lucky if we got in 2-3 times in 1 month, due to my PTLS symptoms (mostly the lack of desire/libido and my moods).
HeWants2~ Thank you for sharing about fasting and praying. I think this is a VERY good concept prior to O. Beautiful.

I feel I need to clarify just a tad..... Yes this does mean we will abstain a good five days or so before my expected O time. It will be a little difficult, but we have decided to fast, and pray during that time, to acknowledge the fact that we believe whole heartedly in God's grace, and infinite power, as well as to show our gratitude for making all of this possible.

No (TMI) from you but I may have TMI lol..... I will be counting for two reasons. First, Im 85% sure this will be my last baby, and my husband's first baby of his own, and though it may sound selfish he wants a baby boy, although we would be thrilled with a baby girl we are still going to try to increase our chances for a boy by TTC no more than 24 hours before O and no more than 12 hours after O...... Doin the BD as much as possible in that time frame.
The second reason I'm counting may be silly, but makes me feel better, and that is doin the BD as many times as we can around my O...... Ahhh the things we do for a BFP

OK...have to add to this topic, because I feel like it's a silly question. Do you have to count if you do the BD everyday? I'm not gloating and I do feel like it might be taken wrong (TMI), but I just had to ask. Is there another reason why you would count?

It looks like you got your answer. Yes, an OPK works as long as you are ovulating. Even if you have a tubal ligation. You may find the saveontests.com site helpful. Fran, RN

Neva, I have seen other ladies on here use it before their TR to get an idea of their cycles. As long as you are ovulating, you should see that using your OPK.

An OPK kits works anytime you are ovulating, so yes as long as you still ovulate normally, the OPK should still show a positive, you just will not be able to get prego yet... :-)

I got a lot of feed back on my thread when I asked for help understanding my cycle, but I forgot to ask if a OPK kit works before my TR..... I don't know, I just don't want to miss any opportunity to get that BFP!
