The symptoms that you report are common to many women that suffer from PTLS. While we can not guarentee relief of your symptoms, most of our patients that have TR for PTLS experience some relief of their symptoms. Please feel free to call the office with any questions.

patti4kids we can not say what is best for you in our own life. I wish you the best as you decided what to do. For me the TR was the answer needed for the PTLS. When I started feeling better the baby part was not so key, if you can understand. I knew I felt bad and had hard cycles just never realized how bad till I started feeling better. I have charted to keep from getting a baby and than we decided to try, then had to watch what we did again, lol. Boy it is a ride of a life time. I for one could not have made it this far with out my husband there supporting me. Hang in there. Miranda TR-3/24/08 R-3.0/L-2.5 BFP-7/22/09-MC 7/29/09

I am new to the messaging board. I am 36 years old with 4 children. I have PTLS to a degree. I have heavy bleeding, cramps, hot flashes sometimes, and mood changes. And I have a touch of the baby fever! When I talk to my DH about wanting a TR, he says that my PTLS is not bad and is against the TR. I talk to him about wanting another baby and he laughs and says he is too old to have another baby (he is 39). He said if I got pregnant by mistake he would be happy. I think it is my body and if I want a TR for the PTLS, I should. I think he will come around about the baby thing, because he loves children. What is your advice? I am planning to have my TR in Feb or March 2010.

Sharonc - If you have not done so already..I suggest you read the PTLS blog series here..I think it was from June or so...Many of us shared our PTLS stories. There is no diagnostic test for it and many women have symptoms in common but they do vary in severity and types of symptoms from woman to woman. PTLS IS REAL and do not let anyone or any doctor tell you it isn't. I am a believer in herbal therapies as well and I think they help some but they did not cure me of my PTLS and I always advise caution when taking anything!...My 20+ symptoms I suffered with for 3 years were all gone a few months post TR. I had my TL at 40 with the birth of child #3 and my TR at 43 solely for PTLS relief and not to have more kids..Good luck. You will find great supportive women here as well as a very friendly CH staff.

sharonc- I saw a naturopath for the adrenal issue. My mom has had the same problem, and interestingly enough, also had TL when I was little. Makes me wonder... I'd rather you email me if you're okay with that. I've been around here long enough to know that too much discussion about treating stuff naturally just doesn't always go over too well. roadsquiver at gmail dot com is how you can get ahold of me anytime. I'm always more than happy to share my experience and help in any way. Mindy

sharonc my doctor had tested for all kinds of things and nothing. My OB had tried telling my that a TL would change things but at the time it was the best thing for me. After the hip pains, hair falling out, closing off from others, headaches that I would have to go to bed with because I could not do anything and so much more I found out about PTLS after all ready looking into a TR. I did do the all natural treatments and it help but never removed everything. I had a MC in July-09 and the pain from it matched many of my AF's before the TR. I hope you are able to get something done that helps you. Miranda
Thank you all so much for your input. I greatly appreciate it. It helps to know there are people out there experiencing the same stuff AND that you have also been able to find relief. I am so sick of going to the dr and they can't figure things out. My gp suggested that I see an endocronologist after I told her I think it's from my TL so that should be interesting. Part of me thinks if a reversal can do the trick, it is a no brainer. Except that it is not free. And I don't know how I would take care of my kids (1 and 3) after having it done. Btw, Mindy, how did they figure out is was your adrenals? I think that is what I am experiencing. Anyway, it is so upsetting that we are not told of these things before having our tubes tied. I want to call oprah and good morning america because aside from seriously affecting our bodies and our lives, this is not fair that so many people are experiencing this!!! But you guys all give me hope. Thank you!!!!

Hi my name is Miranda. I had my TL in 03 and then my TR on 3-24-08. I will be 29 this year and I am so glad I did the surgery because it removed the PTLS. I went to a wellness doctor to help with it the best he could before the surgery. The all natural stuff did not remove the PTLS but the surgery did. I wish you all the best. Miranda

I am so glad that there are so many of us out there & that I am not the only one. I seriously thought I was going crazy! My symptoms are pretty well much like everyone else's on here. Depression, fatigue, headaches & not to mention the worst part & probably TMI but periods. Mine are horrific. Double over pain, heavy bleeding for atleast 3 days & Im talking super pad & super tampon every 15-30 minutes. I will be so glad to have my TR surgery. I CANT wait!!!

Hi ladies. Yes, PTLS is a very real thing! I had TL at 24 after my 4th child was born. AF came back before my 6 wk postpartum check. This was unusual for me. My milk supply was horrible, so couldn't breastfeed my last baby. Within a year of TL my migraines got more frequent and more sever, 2-3 times a week. Then chronic fatigue set in. For me this meant that every 5-6 months my adrenals would "crash" and I'd have to go on a natural but very potent supplement to get them back up and running halfway. My cycles remainded regular, but I felt preggo 3 weeks out of the month and had terrible cramps. On top of this, my mind seemed a jumbled mess all the time. I went from being very high energy and proactive about things, to barely having the energy and mindset to take care of laundry. I went to a naturopath but nothing seemed to quite make me feel normal again.
I'm happy to say that I had TR over a year ago. When I went in for surgery I was feeling another adrenal crash coming on. 3 weeks after surgery I felt better than I had in 4 years! I still get my normal migraines but not the ones pre TR. My energy is back and cycles are normal again. I can't believe how much TL affected me and how TR worked! And doctors typically don't know or acknowledge these things.
Sorry this is so long, but I remember how much it helped me when I was researching to hear about how much TR helped someone, and that I was not alone.
And, for the record, CHTRC is a GREAT place to get your TR!
HI how r u doing? I seen your post so i decided that i would reply because i had a tubal ligation done about 4 years ago, and now i'm 31 and i have figured out that i had ptls also, because the symptoms that i'm still having are crazy periods some are heavy then others, at one point i had my period for 2 weeks straight, and i also still have most of the symptoms, i was in and out of the doctors to see what they could do, and they ran all kinds of test, even had a mri, and they have found nothing, so they could not treat it and then when i figured out what it was I told the DR, about PTLS it was like they never heard about it, and they told me that they would have to reasearch it and they would get back to me and well after a year later, well would u guess that i still have not heard anything from them. But on a lighter note, my finace and I just scheduled to have a TR done, so hopefully after april all the symptoms will be gone, I wish u the best of luck finding to sure your symptoms, let me know if u find anything. take care

Hi. I am new to this. I had my TL a year ago after having my second child and have been suffering from lots of crazy things which I recently figured out (on my own) is PTLS - dizziness, joint pain, hair loss, teeth pain, hip pain, crazy periods, etc. I am seriously considering a reversal but am not excited about going under the knife again. I am just interested in talking to other PTLS people to find out about experience, age when having TL, TR, etc. I am contemplating trying some other less invasive things first - vitamins, herbal supplements, etc but over all just feel like my body is not my own and don't think i should be feeling like this at the age of 40 and am really leaning towards a reversal. Any input would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you!!!!
