Ashley,
Hi. Yes my operative report says 3X. Sending your report to a nurse is a good idea. I also spoke to my surgeon since I posted and that is also a good idea. I found out that the burns were adjacent (which is good news so to speak). You and I are in the same boat. Good luck to you.

MommyTalk-
how do you know your tubes were burned 3 times - does it state that in the Operative Report? I belive you, Im just asking so I can look on mine and see if mine was 3X I know it was burn (fulguration) but it say 60% of half of both tubes...I plan to send my OR in next week to a RN at Chapel Hill and get their opinion before I pay the money and make the trek from Oklahoma to NC....
Prayers and hope your way!

Make sure you check out the tubal reversal pregnancy statistics and the pregnancy outcomes. That should give you full information. Go with your heart. If you really want to have another baby have it done. It's an easy surgery to recover from and all you'll have to gain is a baby!

Dear Julia,
Thank you. I have read the statistics. The problem is that the statistics group all coagulation together. I really want to hear from the ladies out there who have had 3 burns to better understand my chances. Also, it gives me hope to hear from people.

Dear Mommy Talk:

Bipolar cautery is the most common laparoscopic sterilization procedure performed in the United States. At Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center, we keep detailed statistics on patient outcomes following the reversal and - on average - neraly 70% of women with bipolar cautery procedure will become pregnant after tubal reversal.

Please take a look at our Pregnancy Statistics for more information.

Hi, I also had bipolar cautery TL and had TR 9/22/09. Only on 1st cycle past TR but am hopeful. My lengths after reversal are 5cm right and 4cm left. Good luck to you. Many of us here with similar procedure. Dr. Berger did my surgery and am very grateful. Tara

I know mine were burned and that the doctor removed 2-3cm from each tube. After the TR I have 3.0 on my right and 2.5 on my lift. I had my TR on 3/24/08 and had a MC on 7/29/09. I wish you all the best. Miranda
