What kind of tubal ligation did you have reversed? How many cm did you have on each side? I'm sorry, I have so many questions for people who have actually gone through the procedure I think I've done enough research on tubal reversals that I could probably do my own surgery at this point lol I'm going to call them today since I now have a surgical report they can look at, before I was kinda flying blind because my old doctor lost my file from the tubal ligation. Good luck to you, I hope you get pregnant quickly!!

I just had my TR two days ago with Dr. Monteith. Rest assure, that BOTH Dr. Berger and DR. Monteith are excellent and qualified Physicians to do your procedure!!!
Since Dr. M did my surgery, I can tell you that he has a gracious bedside manner, and he was thorough in explaining things to me and my husband, and I felt at complete ease. So, either Dr. Berger or Dr. M will take good care of you.... Your best bet is to call CH and speak with one of the knowledgeable and kind staff......read the website and prepare yourself as best as possible.... Chrissy

Well I had my hysteroscopy, D&C and Laparoscopy yesterday. Dr. says I have 7 cm of tube on one side and 6 1/2 cm of tube left on the other and he says they don't appear to have any damage to them, should be an easy re-connection. He just doesn't understand why the dr. that did it tied them so close to my ovaries. He says that makes it harder to reverse them, but with the right dr. it should be fine. Anyone else had this issue??
My uterus is slightly tilted, which is normal, and he found some endometriosis polyps that he removed, but said there were no visible signs of adenomyosis so he's pretty sure the samples he sent off will be negative. Other than that he said everything is in perfect working condition to go ahead with the reversal!! He said normally the chances of conceiving are 60-75%, but with the right doctor doing it, 90%.... I think Dr. Berger is my 90% guy from what I've read We want to wait til after Christmas and our oldest son's birthday so we're thinking the first or second week of February, is anyone else considering around this same time so I have a reversal buddy?? I'm just so excited, I got every answer I was hoping for yesterday!! Come on February!!!

I can completely relate to your sentiment. I had my TR 100 years ago in 2004! LOL!! There was nothing as awesome as having a family around me that was completely happy about my pregnancy, and you've never seen a baby (or a big girl at this point) that is loved so much. My DH still gets tears in his eyes when she's being cute and giving hugs. We are trying for TR #2 at this point, and I couldn't recommend Chapel Hill more for your surgery.
Granted, there are lots of ladies that never get their BFP, but at least you'll know that getting your TR done will give you a chance every month. I've had problems having #2 that I didn't have with TR#1, but I truly believe it's due to my age. (I'll be 35 in January as opposed to 29 when I got pregnant with Allison) But I know that every 4 weeks I have a chance, and that makes the biggest difference in the world. I wish you the best of luck and hope you have the same outcome that I did.

Hello everyone @ CHTRC Just wanted to say Thank you all so very much. I am 44 yr and Hubby is 22 yr with no children. I have 3 children 22, 18, 18 not twins 10 months apart. Hubby and I decided a year ago to do the TR and then decided on CHTRC. We finally made the journey on 10/19/2009 consultation and tr 10/20/2009. Meeting with Dr. Monteith and the staff was fabulous. I felt like a queen. The staff and Dr. Monteith made this a fantastic well waited for trip. Everything and everyone was so great. I know my age may hinder a little but I think Hubbies youth will make up for it. Surgery went great and I was just a little sore. Dr. Monteith said I had 4cm of tube left on one side and no tube on the other. That\'s okay cause I know that it is just a matter of time until I write back and say the words I am Pregant. Thanks again to a job well done to all at CHTRC.

I looked into several places and did my research well. I decided on CH, and I could not be happier with my decision. There is nothing that I would change about the whole process. Everyone there is nice, and I have had a few follow up questions, and the DR is so quick to respond. I really do feel like more than just a patient. I had my reversal on 5/08/09, and I have not got a BFP yet, but I think my hormones have been out of balance. This past week is the best I have felt since the reversal..so hopefully soon.

I can totally relate to wanting the joy of pregnancy rather than the burden. I love my children with all my heart and wouldnt change it. When I got pregnant with my second baby my husband at the time wouldnt talk to me for a few days. I was excited by myself. He is an excellent father, we were just young.
I was 27 when i had my TL. Dr. Berger did my tubal reversal on June 4, 2009. I have not had a BFP yet, but my tubes are very short with 2cm on each side. The doctor that performed my TL didnt leave much to work with. However, I had my HSG yesterday and both my tubes are wide open. Although, I am not pregnant yet. I consider that what all my body has been through that he has performed a miracle in just being able to open my tubes so I have the chance.

Christina we found out we were pregnant in July and lost the baby a week later on 7/29/09. If you feel you need the D&C then do it. I know some ladies on here that had it done for other reason than removing stuff after losing a baby. I wish you all the best .Miranda

Miranda- He wants to the do the D&C because he thinks I have adenomyosis and the scrapings/biopsy he gets from the lining of my uterus may be able to give him a definite diagnosis. Have you gotten pregnant since your reversal in 08? Your tubal is exactly how my dr. said he did it, but my new dr. is not sure that's how it was really done because my records have been lost by the old one, that's another reason he's going in to measure my tubes before I spend the money on the surgery.

Christina my name is Miranda. I was 23 when I had my TL.I was able to have my TR on 3/24/08. I am now 29. My doctor tied, cut and removed 2-3cm and burned my tubes. After the TR I have r-3.0 and l-2.5 . You said you had a actual reason for have the D&C. With out know why you are having it done I can not say yes or no on it. I most likely would say no unless there was something big going on that is making you need one. Welcome to the board and I wish you all the best. Miranda ME-29 DH-23 DS-9 DD-6 TR-3/24/08 MC-7/29/09

Hello Christina, welcome to the message board. I searched for a TR doctor for about a year and talked to ~15 doctors. I am very happy with Dr. Berger. I had the Essure procedure done November 2006 and had my TR August 26, 2009 (L9cm R9cm) You are definitely in the right place. If you have not spoken to the staff or doctors I recommend you do so. I can guarantee that after to talk to them you will be ready to schedule your appointment. Also, you can find pregnancy stats on the web site. they are actual numbers from Dr. Berger's patients not just numbers from who knows where (as with some web sites).

Hi Christina! Welcome to the boards. I haven't had TR yet but I am sure that this is the place for me. I didn't do much research but the places I looked at before just didn't seem right. The personal attention given to each patient before and after surgery @ CHTRC is remarkable. I wouldn't sacrifice this for anything.
I am a year older than you with 3 girls. My youngest daughter was born after we got married but I didn't realize how much of a difference her birth would be from the others when I chose the TL. It makes such a big difference to have a 'love child' vs 'oops, I'm pregnant, now what' experiences. So I understand exactly what you mean there.
I 2nd AnitaA68 on the d&c.
If you can, send your reports from your TL for the Drs to review so you will know if you are a good candidate for the surgery.
