Joanie, I had my TR done on 3/7/08 at Dr. Berger's clinic. I would recommend Dr. Berger to anyone looking to have a TR. My fiance and I used our tax returns for the trip out and back; I picked up airline tickets on Orbitz.com for a little over $500 (we flew from Colorado). It was a nice vacation for the two of us to get away, alone. The procedure is virtually pain free. To me it felt more like I had just done an intense workout (muscle tightness in the ab region). Tawnee, I have tried locating my records, she was born at Bitburg AB in Germany. I had my tubal 12 years ago. (she was born c-section so they did it then) I have called them to see if i can't get my records sent but found out Bitburg AB hospital is now closed....Berta, thats too cool my friend!! I am 6 days older than you! ack! hahaha!! You guys are awesome!!!
Congratulations and welcome! You are welcome to join us in the Waiting Room...we are a group that has either scheduled surgery, or are anticipating that we will schedule surgery. We also have people that stick around after their surgery as well.
Clamps...hmmm...I had fallope rings. Is it possible to contact that hospital? How long ago was it?

Thank you all so much for your very nice replies!!! Means alot to me. BERTA, DH's birthday is in August as well..Aug. 22nd mine is also in October...October 20th. How neat is that?? He will be 39 in Aug I'll be 39 in Oct. Anyway, well, the traveling would be a little difficult since me and hubby both work. Money is also an issue. But with our federal return, it might help. I also heard WONDERFUL things about Dr. B. I am hoping we can use him, praying even. Oh that would be fantastic if we could!!!

Dear Joanie, Welcome to the board. As you can see we have patients travel from all over the place for surgery with Dr. Berger. You are generally here for two nights and three days. We do not have to have a copy of your records for you to schedule surgery. Dr. Berger is able to repair the tubes in 98% of the cases and the fact that you had clamps placed on your tubes is a positive thing since clamps and rings are one of least damaging to the tubes. Dr. Berger has patients that drive or fly from all over world. I think the BEST choice would be to have Dr. Berger do the surgery and NO OTHER DOCTOR... I drove from Florida and we have several dr's here that do Tr but really no one as expereinced and qalified as Dr. Berger... It was worth the trip!!!! I would contact one of the nurses- Rhonda and Jennifer helped me and they will help get you started... This is an exciting journey and also a stressful journey- please only trust your tubes with Dr. Berger or his under study Dr. M They only do TR's and are up to date with all the best way- they do four a day no other Dr's can compare to their experience-- Good Luck and best wishes to you and your hubby!!!

I can't help ya with Dr's in your area...however Dr Berger and his staff are just awesome!!! I traveled from Indiana to NC to have my surgery because with research...I found Dr Berger was the only Dr that did ONLY TRs- which having the specialized experience is the key!!! Dr B has also added a Dr along with himself in doing the TR's-- Dr Monteith.
My Dh and I are also 38- 39 this year...he in Aug, Me in October. I have DD's 16 and 13, DS's 14 and 11 from previous. Had my TR 7/23/07 and have been PG twice already....we are currently TTC again and soo hoping for a sticky bean this time around!!!
Just wanted to share my experience with Dr. Berger and his staff at CH. I too looked for several months and read everything that I could find on TR and specialists that performed this procedure. There are good doctors I am sure that do this...but in my opinion and I think this is shared by others too...Dr. B is the best in this specialized field. His staff is well trained as well and they are there to answer questions you have before you have the TR and afterwards as well. I found Dr. B to be a doctor that was concerned about me and not just 'another' patient. I was a bit apprehensive about having the surgery done due to my age. He put my mind at ease with that and gave me statistics to show that woman age 40+ can and do get pregnant after TR. If you decided to travel to CH and let Dr. B or Dr Monteith (CH's newest addition) perform the surgery, you will not be disappointed.

Hey all! I'm semi-new here, I posted here a long time ago..me and my hubby are still thinking of a tubal reversal, i'm 38 yrs old will be 39 this year, I have 2 kids from a previous marriage son almost 16 and daughter 12. My hubby is also 38 will be 39 in Aug. He has been wanting a child of his own for a long time. I just went to the OBGYN doc, he checked me out, everything seems to be in good shape! I have what they called "CLAMPS" done on my tubes after my daughter was born in Germany. I have no record on my tubal since it was done there. I've tried locating my records many times but since then the hospital closed. I now live in Louisiana, i'm currently trying to find a doctor that does reversals here or around the area. I am excited to do this, I just don't know where to start. Any ideas?? Thank you in advance!
