blessedmom,
It is normal to be able to feel what is called a healing ridge underneath your incision. This should lessen in a couple of weeks or so. Mine did anyways.

Its been 6 days since my tr and I have the worst allergies. I've been sneezing for days!!! I'm hoping I didn't mess anything up in there. The incision looks great, just a little bruising. But under the skin its like i can feel a long knot of scar tissue. is that normal?
thanx for everyone sharing.

just had my tr jan. 25th, it took me 10 days to fully recover. my pain meds made me so sick that i quit taking them. i was having trouble breathing, and my chest kept feeling tight. i got much better after getting off the pain medication. after 10 days every now and then my left side of incision gets really sore, that's about it. sheila

Hello,

I am a floor nurse at a nursing home. I had surgery on a tuesday and was back to work by saturday. Of coarse I didn't do any lifting. I was still sore and stiff, but I made it through just fine. I work 12 hour shifts and I worked the following day as well. I thought that the 2nd and 3rd day after the surgery were the most painful. I also found it hard to fit into jeans for about 10 days afterwards. My scrubs were great. Best of luck to you.....Melissa

Jennifer,
Everyone is different. Some things to think about: does the payroll take all day or just part of the day?... do you have to move around a lot? If you are like me, you will likely still be in a good bit of pain, but not so much that you couldn't do what you had to at work and then leave when you get tired. That seemed to be the biggest thing... I got tired really quickly.
Good luck.

Hi Danyelle where in NC are you from? I live in Cherryville about 30 minutes West of Charlotte. Yeah I thought of that as well I actually work for an asphalt contracting company but Im in the office all day not actually out on jobs but anyways our company is so very small 5 employees total so usually when the owner takes a vacation everyone follows and takes that same week and usually its around the last week in July so Im hoping that maybe it will happen that week he will decide to take a vacation if so that would be just perfect for me but we will see, it will work out if not ill just follow your advise go in do payroll go home. Thanks for chiming in and GL TTC. Jennifer in NC

hi jennifer,
i'm also from NC. i had my TR on a wednesday, so i took the rest of that week and the whole week after, but only b/c i work in construction and do a lot of walking and bending. i felt pretty much back to myself after that 1st weekend after surgery (4 or 5 days). everybody heals differently, i only hurt when i would lie flat on my back. sitting didn't hurt unless i sat for a long time and went to get up. maybe you can just go in long enough to do payroll then go home. wishing you the best of luck and long tubes.

Hey everyone! I was just wondering how long was it after your TR before you could go back to work? I work in an office so Im constantly sitting at a desk although I have to walk up a set of stairs before I reach my office, and Im just wondering if I had my surgery on a Monday would I be able to resume work by that Friday, Im asking this because I am in charge of payroll and we do it every Friday and no one else in the office knows how to do it, so I would have to be at work by then and I want to know, would that be pushing myself to have surgery on Monday and go back to work at least by that Friday? [Confused]
