A single beta HCG level cannot be interpreted. It is the rate of increase or doubling time that can assess the health of an early pregnancy. If the HCG level doubles within 3 days, then the pregnancy is developing at a normal rate and, if so, continuing HCG assays should be done until the HCG level reaches 1500 at which point a vaginal US exam will be important. If the HCG level declines instead of rising, then a miscarriage is in process.

I am not a doctor, but if you just missed your period its to early to say one way or another. You won't see anything on the u/s until your numbers are between 1500-3000 Do you have an appointment with your OB I hope right away so your b/w can be done again?

Hi Susan I am new at this. I had my TR on 3-24-08. It is very nice to meet you. From reading the board I would wait and see what my next numbers are. I have read where lady\'s first numbers were in the 30's. I wish you all the best and will keep you in my prayers. When do you go to get your numbers checked again? Miranda
PS love your DOB. Same as my girls. Mine is in Oct as well.

I'm an older TR and haven't posted in years . Here goes TL in 1997 , TR in 2001 , I had 2 pregnancies after TR in 2002 & 2003 both with clomid - both ectpoic . But now , no drugs , not trying , all of a sudden I'm pregnant , a lil cramping and 5 days after period , so I haven't missed a period , my numbers were on sunday 123 and emergency room doc said couldn't see anything on ultrasounds so w/numbers low I have a "threatened" miscarriage . Does it sound like a miscariage ? What do I do ?
