okay maybe some of you have heard of this company before but I hadn't before yesterday...it is called carecredit. If you go to their web which is their name and dot com then you can check it out. It is 18 month interest free credit card specifacly for medical. If you have to go over the 18 months it is at 11.9% interest. It may be worth checking into and also check with Dr. B to see if he excepts it. Could be a great option for some of you and get your money right away!!!

I'm in the same boat as many of you. We have two children (4 and 2) and we have found it impossible to save money. My husband's credit is shot from first marriage and some stunts that his ex-wife has pulled since the divorce. He's looking into getting a second job and I am considering dropping out of college to get a job to to help pay for the surgery.

We really need to surgery done it's causing too many problems for me and our relationship. We're really putting our heads together to come up with something.

Well, i have Aetna HMO..they DO NOT cover a tubal reversal, at all...they do cover just about everything else but that..the reparing of the tube, etc, etc...they cover infertility, but since i had an elective sterilization, i cannot use any of the services....i called around to several doctors here..and was told that there is a procedure that the insurance requires that will show i had my tubes tied and therefore i would not qualify for any infertility services...so here i am, dunno what to do and getting a lil bummed out about the entire situation.

Hi ladies,
a bit of info, maybe it will help. I have been trying to see if our insurance will pay any or all for tr. last week we got an answer of "no". my husband called again yesterday, and got someone who took the time to look into it. Then our answer was "covered 100%. Get a doctor to deem the procedure to repair the tubes, necessary." So you need to go to your primary care physician or gyno, and see if they can write you a letter deeming it necessary. Now the key word is "repair of tubes". And if anyone is suffering from ptls, then go that route, easier to get coverage, then to say " I want to have a baby"... anyway, hope it works for some of us. I have pacificare/hmo

I dont know if u are employed or not but how i got my tr was my job has what is called a flexible spending account. I maxed it out and then paid the rest out of pocket. also there are cc companies that offer health care financing. It is def. I good option if u cant wait any longer and cant pay upfront. You know what i dont understand is how the insurance co. cover the expense for the TL but not for the TR. Sometimes i just get so frustrated with them. good luck!!

This is Thera, Thank you for the words of encouragement, it really DOES help!! My husband and I have developed a plan- we are going to cash in on his 401K this summer and pay for the surgery that way. I just have to rely on excitement and hope to get me to this summer (it's not that far away). My husband wants to use our income tax to pay off bills, and he said that if we wait till this summer we can also talk about not only the sugery to help with ptls but maybe have another baby also (YEAH!) So thank you very much you all are so wonderful and I can't wait till this can all happen! God bless all of you. You are all truly angels!!!!

Good Luck girl!! I have been there!!! I had PTLS SO bad and surgeries because of all the bleeding to see whatcould be wrong- the Dr.'s could nevre explain it..
Then I found Dr. Berger and foudn out his price. It was a lot of money but cheaper than anything here-- here it cost 10,000 and that doesn't cover the hosptial stay and insurance doens't cover that either..

You know CHapel Hill has a savings plan you can do- I know Rhonda (RN) could help you with information on that. Then it's tax time and most of us used tax money to put towards the surgery.
Before you know it you will have the money and be able to have the surgery... It has helped my PTLS SO MUCH!!! I feel normal and my experience at chapel hill was priceless!!! They are all so warm and welcoming, They treat you like family and really care about you... I only wish I could find a Dr. and Staff that are half as great now!!!

Good Luck and keep this dream alive- It will happen!!

Lots of Love,
Becki

Dear Thera,
I am sorry for the frustration. Insurance generally will not cover elective procedures. We do have other options as far as the cost of surgery. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I look forward to hearing from you.

My name is Thera and I am from South Dakota. I did have a thread in the Questions about TR. This week I have tried to get the ball rolling and get some information before I went to talk to my doctor and I am very frustrated. First I found out that my ins won't cover anything (shocker!!) and then to find out here in South Dakota I have to come up with an adsurd amount before I can even have the surgery. What I don't understand is that my insurance will cover a hysterectomy if my obgyn say's that I need one but it won't cover a reversal when I am suffering from so many problems. If they want to say that it may or may not work than why did my obgyn give me a choice of hysterectomy over ablation, which the ablation may not work either, but my insurance will cover that too.
I am just so frustrated and don't know what avenue to take. I have three children under the age of six and saving the cash to have the surgery will take a very long time, and I don't know how much longer I can deal with this pain and these periods. Please if anyone has any input please feel free to share.
Thera, South Dakota
