Congratulations Leslie! I was HOPING to be a May visitor - but a new engine for the van and rear brakes for the truck seemed to put a little damper on that plan.... so now shooting for mid-summer. Best of luck to you!
Eager & Discouraged - your name now makes sense! Don't let the words of people who don't share your dream affect you! They will be the first to fawn all over a new baby when it arrives... you and your DH are the only ones that matter in this decision. If this is right for YOU... Then it is RIGHT! Stay strong... we are all here pulling for you!

Hey everybody!! I am scheduled for surgery on the 18th of May. I am so excited but scared at the same time. All kinds of feelings going on right now.

lesliebrown569 I am also scheduled for May (18th). I too am very nervous. And believe it or not am wondering if this is the right thing to do. My mother keeps telling me that DH and I need to be 100% sure and I think that I am until I talk to her and my oldest sister. So of course its stressing me and I'm a stress eater so you know what happens then and I just got down low enough for the surgery.(still working to go lower) But I definitely am excited for you because there is nothing more wonderful than what we all hope to encounter in the months or years to come.

HI Leslie, Welcome abaord!! I am scheduled to have my TR April 17th (not many more days left) I think everyone goes through the same feelings that you are having right now. I know I sure am. I met with DR Berger and staff last week to have my pre op tests done since I live so close to CH.On the way there I was a bucket of nerves but Let me tell you, we couldnt be in better hands! Everyone there is wonderful and the office is just so comfortable. Doesnt feel like a drs office at all. Has a homey feeling to it. They will go over all the details of the surgery and answer any questions you might have. I left feeling alot better. Kristie
Welcome to the board! I remember those feelings. They are normal and we have all them. Everything will be GREAT! The blood work with all come back normal and the surgery will be a breeze. I know easier said since I have been through it right? I just had my TR March 9th of this year. SO not that long ago. You will love Dr.Berger and his staff! They are wonderful. They will make you feel welcome from the first minute you arrive. They will answer ALL your questions and go over everything with you. Then you will be Dr. Berger and he will talk to you and also answer any questions you have. I really wish all doctors ran their bussiness like Dr. Berger's. The day of surgery they will take awesome care of you. I felt great! I went back and slept for a few hours and DH and I went out to dinner that night. (everyone is different) but by the next day I only took the pain meds because of the 8 hour drive home. I really felt fine- a little sore and I walked slower than usual ( just ask my kids) But I was totally happy with theh way everything was handed and went with Dr. Berger and his staff. I know you will too! We are all here for any questions you have. I am sure we have had the same ones as well. Enjoy your time with DH in Chapel Hill- Lots of Love! Becki

Don't be embarrassed about your feelings, they are ok. I want to reassure you that when you come to Chapel Hill, we will be happy to make you feel as comfortable as possible. Also, the message board is a great way to talk about this, and hopefully this can ease you mind. It will be great to meet you in May, and take care. Eddie, ST

Leslie, Dr. Berger usually recommends that patients wait to try to conceive until after their first menstrual period following surgery. This allows your body time to heal. Good luck to you! We look forward to meeting you soon!

Leslie~~I feel great, still a little "side stitch" on the left every once in a while today; but I may be O right now. I had thought I should have O on Mon/Tues of this week; but maybe the TR put it off a couple of days. Anyway, the surgery is a piece of cake. Don't be fooled however by how good you feel immediately post-op. Take it easy.....the soreness kicks in the next morning. I would estimate that I am 95% back to normal "pre-TR" feelings now at 10 days post op. My kids and DF had me laughing so hard over the past week that I think my soreness was more due to that!! They have been great! We are not going to concentrate on TTC for a few cycles. I don't want BD to become a chore (just yet). My DF has no children of his own; so he is wanting this to be sooner than later. I wish you luck and good luck to everyone. Tracy

Hey Leslie, I had my TR on 03/20/07 after 6 years of feeling "not right anymore" following my tubal ligation. It is the best thing I have ever done for myself. I feel great. The staff at the TR center is wonderful; everyone was great. Dr. Berger has such a calming presence and he just made me feel so at peace with the procedure. I can't say enough wonderful things about the whole experience. I know you are getting anxious...and I'm excited for you. I wish you great success. Dr.Berger suggests that you wait 1 cycle before TTC; but I found a lot of instances where that didn't happen. We've decided to wait on TTC and just "see what happens" for the next few months. I'm just so happy to be whole again that I feel confident that everything is just going to work out right.
