We went through the same process. I asked my OBGYN if my husband needed to do a SA before we spent the money on the TR. He agreed that it would be a good idea and that was our first step towards our surgery. I had my surgery on 2/13/08 and had a wonderful experience with Dr. Berger and all the staff. I experienced very little pain, just when I stood and turned too quickly. It was a great experience and I would do it again in a heart beat. I was also nervous about the whole thing but now feel that it was well worth it!!! Good luck with your planning... Melinda

I know how you feel. I feel the same way. I have not scheduled for my TR, but hoping to do so soon. My husband had his done a few weeks a go. My OB Dr. went a head and ordered it, since I was having all my tests done. We have two kids together already but he said to just to make sure.

Hi my name is Miranda. My husband had a SA done. That was our first step. It came back in like a weeks time. I was able to set my date so I go on March 24-08 for my TR. I am just a very nervous person so I am still like that. I am more so because I like to plan everything and as my husband puts it know everything that is going on with me. So the putting me to sleep is the thing I am facing. I hope all the best for you. If you want come over to the waiting room and talk to all the other lady's in waiting. Miranda

Just know that all you are feeling most of us has also felt too. There will be roadblocks, but it only makes you stronger. My dh didn't have a SA until last year and I had my TR in 2004, he doesn't have any kids and I have 2, that have already left home. We have been through road blocks. But we keep trying, and it will happen in Gods time. Good Luck with your journey, and know that everyone on this board is here for you, with support and advice whenever you need it!!

but v. nervous. I'm going to be calling to schedule in just another week or two. First, my husband is going to have a sperm count done just in case. He said he was going to call today to arrange for it. Anyone else's husbands have this done first??

I'm so nervous...I feel like each step of this is nerve wracking...not like worried about pain or anything like that..but more like worried that at some step or another we are going to come up against a roadblock.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
