bostonlass.. It really is a matter of choice.. the person that went w me had sat and Sunday off so I went up Thursday for Consult, then had surgery friday morning and we left Sat afternoon. She met me THursday night at the hotel and only missed Friday work...

Most of the time you will have the consult the day befor eyour surgery date, then your surgery and the enxt day the RN will come in the morning and release you.. You can fly home the afternoon after your surgery.. Unles syou do it on monday as the girls said.. thenyou could fly in Sunday night Consult and surgery monday and release and fly home tuesday...

Good luck so glad you decided to go for it...

Boston.. I am glad you have decided. I have my TR set from a Monday so everything is in one day. That way everyone will not need to take off from work a long time. I can not wait to hear how things go. Miranda

If your surgery is monday, you have consult and surgery on the same day. Otherwise, you have consult on one day and surgery on the next.

Donnavan-

We are coming earlier b/c of flights etc. Will you still be there on Sat. 3/15? That's the day we are flying in and I would love to meet you. I'm so excited but nervous! We've waited 3 years for this. I wish you and your friend a safe travel and hope you have long lengths and heal well and quickly.

Ok I'm going to do it. Now I have to find out when she can take off from work and see if we're in sync. How many days will it take? I read on the first page that you fly in day 1, have consult, then day 2 have the operation, then day 3 leave for home BUT I could swear I remember reading on the message board that you fly in the morning of day 1, have consultation and immediately have surgery, day 2 nurse checks you then you're on your way home.

So.....anyone? Thanks so much for your help btw!!!

I went with my very best friend, while my DH held down the fort with the kids and pets etc. I felt completely fine with it.

Hello Everyone I am going in 8 days and counting and I just found out last night my DH can't get off work now because they are closing for Easter Break so that would out him out of work for 2 weeks and we just can't manage money wise doing this as much as I want him to go and AS MUCH as he wants to go it just can't happen..BUT the good news is I will get to see him the week after so I hope to be ready to be with him w/o the pain..I have not seen him in 5 weeks and have only seen him 4 times in 5 months so I was heartbroken and cried all night last night stressing out how I was going to get there and with who..I had bought the airline tickets and now can't be used being he was flying from RI and I am coming from Delaware..He has no children so this is killing him that he is unable to be there but a friend of mine came thru for me and will be making this journey with me I thank her so so much..I tried changing my date to the week he was off and they were booked so with that being said Its me and Mandi heading South Next Wed morning yahoooo....So I wish you the best with whatever you decide to do and lots of baby dust..God Bless Donna in Delaware [infant]

I am going with my Dh AND my SIL. My DH is wheelchair bound with muscular dystrophy and doesn't really qualify as the responsible adult (I tell him its because he acts like a child lmao), so his sister and neice are going with us. She will accompany to the surgery while DH sits and twiddles his thumbs.

My Sis went with me. DH couldn't get off work. we had a good time, I don't think DH would have been as patient, he is a mover and a shaker and I think he would have gone stir crazy anyways.
