We are flying. It's only a 2 hour flight and it was really cheap. It would have been a 12 hour drive from Boston and thats probably not figuring stops and traffic. Kathy

I'm doing a bit of both. Flying from Los Angeles (with one stop in Georgia) to Florida to get my mother in law and then driving to CH all in one shot.

JennyH- I am also afraid of flying. I have never flown before and until now I said I never would. I can just see myself getting lost in the airport and not even making my flight! Believe me-if there was any other way I could get there, I would do it. But I live in Washington State, so that would be an awfully long car, bus, or train ride. I guess if you want something bad enough, you'll do whatever it takes. Good luck.

Dear JennyH, As you can see women chose different modes of traveling based on what is best for them. I hope that more will chime in and give their stories. We will be on the look out for your post op papers. We do not have to have the report to acutually schedule your appointment as Dr. Berger is able to repair the tubes in 98% of the cases. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully meeting you in the near future. RhondaB@tubal-reversal.net Rhonda

Jenny-- We drove to have my TR back in 9/2006. We drove from VA and it was about a 5 hour drive, not too bad. Had it been an 8 hour drive or more we would have had to fly.
That said---I had never flown before my honeymoon this past September. I had to fly to Florida in order to take my honeymoon cruise. I was SOOOOO nervous I had my doc rx me some Xanax for the flight. That drug was the best thing ever!!!! I didn't even care I was flying at all. On our return flight I opted for only half a pill and was still just as happy to fly!!! lololol. I had a HUGE fear of flying and I get freaked out in tight spaces but with that Xanax I could have cared less--really!! Get a rx for Xanax or Valium or something!!

I just took a carry on...did not check bags. Much easier!
I am terrified of flying as well...I dont like take-off or landing...but for the most part...it's like sitting in chair in your room..with the hum of a fan motor going..... or so that is my opinion.
I've just decided I gotta swallow the fear to enjoy different places and things in a timely fashion.... riding in a car...N.O.T.

We drove 16 hours and yes the drive back seemed very long and at times when pain meds wore off it was pretty painful...but I loved driving..just gave me and DH such a time to bond and enjoy each other and the new possibilites given to us for the future. I really do think this is a personal decision and whatever works best for one may not for another...but I would definitely do the 16 hour drive again
