You may enjoy your normal day before you go for your ekg. Yes, please take all daily medicines as prescribed, you may eat, drink, etc.
The ekg is done by placing 12 "leads" or sticky patches on your chest. You will be lying down and in a few brief moments the ekg machine will make a tracing of the electrical activity of your heart as it is detected by these "leads". It is painless and simple.

I am going for my 12 lead EKG tomorrow as required for my pre-op testing. I need to know is there anything specific that I should not do.

-do I still need to take my bp medicine in the morning?

-do I not need to eat or drink after a certain time?

I just dont want to do anything that will affect my results.
