Hi
Just wondering what day to start testing for ovulation? I mean with an OPK. This will be the first full month of taking my basal temp, and I have my TR scheduled for June 9th. Not sure if I will take my basal temp with me to NC, I will be too focused on the surgery and other things.

Hi blessedmommy,

This has been my first month TTC. I purchased the clear-blue monitor plus OPK's. I got the monitor for $80 brand new on ebay. The OPK I also purchased on ebay for $18 for a 50 count. The monitor lets me know my high days of conceiving also before my peak. I test with the monitor every morning and use the OPK's in the evening because if I hit my LH surge in the evening the monitor won't pick it up until the next morning when I test. That is what happened this last cycle. Then I do BBT charting to confirm ovulation. I love my monitor,it is great. I just don't want to miss any chance of catching my golden eggie. I would assume you could do the same without the monitor and just use OPK's it's just I heard a lot of great things about the monitor from the ladies so I just had to buy it to see. I wish I would have started using them before surgery so I had a better understanding of my cycles so Yes I would recommend starting before your TR. HTH's

Hi blessedmommy,
Clear-blue ovulation kit is the one we recommend. You should be able to find one at a drug store or local Walmart. And yes, it would be a good idea to use an OPK before your TR to make sure you are ovulating.
Good luck!

Hi blessedmommy. Do you mean the Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor or the disposable OPKs?

blessedmommy I have heard of alot of women using them before their TR. I guess it would just be a preference thing. I personally am not using one right now b/c dh and I have no intention on trying to conceive right after the surgery just b/c our boys are 2 & 3 right now and we would like for them to get a little older and I believe there is still time for us we are 24 & 25. Yes I also think you can get them on ebay for a pretty good price considering what you would pay at a store. Have you scheduled your TR yet? If so let me know and I will add you to the countdown tomorrow morning. Anyways GL and HTH. Jennifer in NC TR 8/4/08

Hi blessed mommy
I have also wondered if I should buy a kit now, but instead I have been tracking my basal temp for most of this cycle. When is your surgery?
Mine is June 9th.
Maybe you should track your temp and when it is getting to the last month before start with the ovulation predictor kit. Or save your money and wait until afterward.
I think you can buy them on ebay.
Well, good luck

Hello everyone I have some questions about the clear-blue ovulation kit how effective is it , where can I go on-line to get a kit and is it best for me to start using it before I have my TR.?
