Betty! Your trip to China sounds wonderful and congrats to your daughter!! You have every right to be proud!!
Susan, I'm sorry you are having to take this path. I was the same way - HSG showed both tubes spill, all other tests were "perfect" did five months on clomid, then another five on injections, and then another three on injections + IUI. Nothing. Highest FSH was 9.5, nothing else even borderline. Unexplained infertilty became "poor responder" when I didnt produce huge numbers of eggs when stimming the last few cycles. Anyway, I am sorry you are here, but so hoping that your next journey will be short and sweet! As for your questions: Brno doesnt have an airport - your choices are to fly into Prague, and then take the train/bus to Brno or to fly into Vienna or Budapest and take the train to Brno. Its a long train ride from both cities though so be prepared. You can get eurorail passes at euro rail dot com to cover the trip before leaving home, or just wait and buy the tickets when you arrive at the train station. You could also rent a car if you have a gps system that includes European maps and drive yourself.
One thing I can suggest is that you type in "cheap flights" on google and then check various airlines. With fuel prices the way they are, our roundtrip tickets from Brussels to Prague have went up 100.00 per ticket since Feb!
The service we use actually sends a car to meet us at the Prague Airport, takes us the 3 hours to the town where the clinic is, and then after our stay, takes us back to the airport in Prague.
Jess thanks for sharing that. I wish I'd have been as lucky as you. Did I read recently that you are expecting TR baby #3???
Flights finally booked yesterday - so now just have to try to stay sane and wait. I'll be taking the dreaded Lupr*n in less than 2 wks. Heavens I hate the forced menopause part of all this. That's a lie - I hate EVERY part of all this!

I guess unfortunately I can join this topic. I am 41 and have had 2 TR's First one in 2003 HSG revealed one open tube. Tried for 2 years then had second TR in 2005 and both tubes are open. I have tried clomid, FSH etc with no luck. All tests came back great. So I have unexplained infertility. I hate that term. Tried IVF in 2002 before the TR but was not successful. Now we are going to try IVF again but doin it overseas like Kay except not the same place. By the way Kay have you found a good site to get cheap plane tickets to Prague? BRNO would be closer but I will settle for cheaper. Good luck in July. Susan
It's been a while since I posted. Been so busy working and planting my flowers that I've been a regular reader, just haven't taken the time to stop in and say hello. You ladies are always remembered in my daily prayers. Welcome to the newcomers -- wow our group is growing! Lots of new faces - Welcome to all and hope your stay here will be short!!!
Kay, Emmie, Debs, Chris, Michelle, Anita, Carmencita - hope all of you ladies are doing well too!
It's officially summer here in NC it seems -- we were gone for 10 days to China and it was hot there but the humidity was absent - but when I got home -- there it was - wow --
China was awesome - made me step back and really appreciate life - ate better in the 10 days that I was there than I have in a long time - so going to try and keep up that pattern - drank more hot tea than I thought I could absorb!! Not so keen on the warm milk and OJ -- I draw my line somewhere -- lol
My 11 yr old officially is now a 6th grader - we flew back in Wednesday around midnight so we could be at her end of the year awards programs -she came out of the year with A honor roll for the 4th quarter and Principals List for the entire year - she scored really well on her EOG tests too and she is reading a little above 8th grade level - so can you tell I am a proud Mom
On CD 32 and no sign of AF -- small twinges of cramping here and there for a few days -- haven't tested yet - we were able to BD about 2 days before I O'd - but weren't able to hit on the exact day because of DF's traveling - I think AF is just delayed because of the traveling and long flights -- I'd love to think that I could have a BFP - but for my own santity - will wait until Monday to test if AF doesn't show her face.
Kay -- just know that as you prepare to make the IVF journey my thoughts and prayers are with you.
We need lots of BFPS on the board!! Ladies - get busy!!!

Dear God, It's only me, I sit before you as humble as can be. I ask you to take a minute to listen to my prayer, please give me a sign to let me know you're there. I know in "Footprints" you've walked for me, You held me in your arms and carried me. In the serenity prayer we ask for faith, To make the right decision on the paths we take. This journey is hard and trying on the heart strings, I need you by my side to help me get through this thing. I see the precious gifts you've blessed me with everyday, but my soul desires one more in the worst way. Please don't see me as greedy or coy, I sit here and pray for a girl or a boy.
I wrote this myself while in tears trying for my tr baby.... It helped when i re-read it.

Hi Kay, I don't come on here as much anymore but have followed your journey. My thoughts and prayers are with you!! Best of luck with your next trip. I will be watching for good news from you. Sara
Hope all is well with you! Thank you for the well wishes
We fly to Prague July 20th. Egg retrieval the 22nd or 23rd, then embryo transfer sometime between the 25th and 29th (depending on the number and quality - it will either be a three day transfer or a 6 day transfer). Home again the 31st of July. Pg test 14 days post transfer. Paid the coordinator yesterday - still have to order the meds and book the flights - will do that today. Can't keep putting it off.
I keep on checking peoples progress but have nothing to say much myself anymore. Kay when will you be going again for the ivf? Hope it is 3rd time lucky!!!!!!!! Chris that would be lovely, my email is opo@live.co.uk, looking forward to your email.
Debs hope you are ok and not flooded, I hear there was some flooding down south? How are you doing now after the first 7 or 8 months?
All of you, wishing you a great day and for the new ones a short stay.

JoAnn, I really hope this is it for you! And if not, that clomid is the magic pill you need
Caroljean - there are a few who have gotten pg, currently there are two ladies who usually post who are pg, and there is another who had her surgery two days before I did, who recently found out she is pg again - I think it took her 18 months post tr to get pg the first time, it was ectopic, and was followed by two or three miscarriages, but then she went on to have her little boy, and is now pg again, but doesnt post. It CAN happen, it really can.
In my years on the board I've seen a few ladies in our age range who get pg right away, and then there are others who have to wait awhile and still others who for unknown reasons it just doesnt work.
Sadly there are no guarantees - but I would suggest to anyone in this age group to decide how aggressive you are going to be. Time is not on our side - so if you are willing to try assisted reproduction, its best to do so sooner rather than later.
Its another rainy day here in the Netherlands - so I'm off to step aerobics instead of bike riding.

Kay - you are too funny!! I have been on the board since 2002 and have been hoping and praying for you along the way. I have always felt that it WOULD happen for you. In the meantime you help the rest of us along! Perhaps you should invest in some great footwear for your next cycle? Couldn't hurt and shopping would be fun!
I got a +++ on my OPK yesterday (CD17). My LP is so darn short though - only 9 days. Ya never know though. I'm gonna try Clomid next cycle to try to lengthen it if this cycle is another bust. I tried 15 cycles before getting pregnant. Then this is my 21st cycle TTC #2. (I have had a m/c and an e/p in the last 21 cycles.)

LOL Chris - maybe I AM both - delusionally determined that's me!
I finally have a few days to myself - which even yesterday sounded really good (Yesterday, I was up at 3am, to prep for the fundraiser which began at 8 and went til noon, then another hour to clean up etc) I'm still sooo tired, but now dreading having a few days to just think - I've already began the precycle freak out this morning as I was looking at flight costs. Not that they are that high really (though they have increased) its just that this is the THIRD TIME I'm buying these tickets Its the THIRD TIME I've paid the coordinator, for the same services.
The THIRD TIME. We'll have now spent what could have been the downpayment on a house.
I'm sure there is some sarcastic saying out there about an idjit being a person who continues to take the same actions expecting a different outcome...
And what about this quote " Be mindful of the link between present action and desired future outcome. Ask yourself: if I repeat today’s actions 365 times, will I be where I want to be in a year?" - Roz Savage, author Not that I could go through a cycle a day - but still...
Or how about - "The key is to just get on the bike, and the key to getting on the bike...is to stop thinking about “there are a bunch of reasons I might fall off” and just hop on and peddle the d***ed thing. You can pick up a map, a tire pump, and better footwear along the way." - Dick Costolo, Founder of Feedburner.com
Hmmm maybe that's the answer - I just need better footwear
