Hello everyone. I posted on here once before but haven't been back in awhile. I am quickly knocking on 40's door and considering having a TR. I have 3 DD's but my fiance doesn't have any kids. We need to make up our minds and the sooner the better. I noticed an old post on here from a lady in Bermuda. I also live in Bermuda and have been trying to connect with someone from here who has had a TR at chapel hill or is going to have one.
I went to SIRM (Sher Institute for Reproductive Medicine) in Las Vegas, but they've got clinics all over the country with basically the same philosophies. I emailed Dr. B for his opinion of the Sher Institute and he said they were among the best in the country. Good luck. They are definitely the place to go for us "challenging" gals.
I'm Nicola also from the UK, but currently live in Kuwait, where I will be travelling from on the 27th June to go to CHTRC. My TR is scheduled for the 30th!!!!! Trisha mentioned you to me and said you would access the boards (after a little training, lol) It is good to know that there are people all over the world travelling to have a TR it just shows the determination.
Your tubes were excellent length, I am hoping for good lengths.
Thank God for the internet hey? I would not have known anything about Dr Berger if I we didn't have it. This site is a credit to all who work there and everyone who uses it, they are so friendly, and informative. I would like to ask if I may? How did you feel on the journey home? I will be travelling for almost 2 days to get back to Qatar, we are moving to Qatar when we leave NC. I will have 7 days in NC before we set on our journey home so hopefully I will feel 100% better before getting on the plane. You or anyone can email me on nikkojay@gmail.com I would love to chat and share experiences.
Anyway take care, relax before you get back to work.
do you mind giving me the name of the facility that dealt with high fsh levels? I have had two miscarriages; one after my third round of ivf and again this past spring after my tubal. we will start clomid next month with iui.

I just wanted to let you all know that despite what you may be told, you are NOT only as good as your highest FSH! At 39 years old, I had an FSH in the 30's and was told that donor egg IVF was the ONLY way I would be able to have more children. NOT! I had my tubal reversal at 38 and 1/2 years old and last week gave birth to my 3rd TR baby, a beautiful healthy little girl. Don't ever give up hope. My first and second TR babies are twins, we did end up using medications, but #3 is totally spontaneous, not even trying to get pregnant. Not avoiding, but not trying. I will be 42 next month and my tube lengths were left 5 cm and right 5.25 cm.
I just turned 43 in Feb. Last AUG. (8 months ago) I had my FSH done, along with 2 other test. I dont' have the paper work with me, but I can get them later and tell you more. But anyway, I did the FSH before I had my TR because I didn't want to spend the money, if it was a lost cause. But my FSH came back at 3.9, which is excellent. But there are 2 other test that need to be done with the FSH. I'll drop in later and let you know their names. Since all 3 of my test came back in the excelllent range, I had my TR Sept. 28. 8 months ago. I turned 43 in Feb. so I am now 43, but nothing for me at all. Both my tube lenghts are 4.9. Dr. B. said my surgery went well, my tubes are very healthy. So it all seemed good, but it now 8 months with nothing. I am ovulating every month, I am very consistent with AF, I took ovulex for 2 months, I tried pre-seed for 2 months, and nothing. I stopped doing all that 2 months ago, and I am just going to relax and see what happens. I might do the HSG to ensure my tubes are open after a year if nothing. Wish you luck..
Carla
ps There is a blood test that you can take called Inhibin that will tell you if you have plenty of egg reserve etc...That is a rare blood test that Dr. give, but I might request that before I go on to do the HSG..

Monica, that's great! Good for you. I assume the boys are fraternal twins? We could barely afford the TR, I don't think we could afford the IVF way, so I am hoping that this will work! I never wanted the TL in the first place - it was my ex-husbands idea....he wasn't interested in the four we already had, so he convinced me to get it. Now I have a young hubby who not only accepts my boys (who two are already grown), but wants one of his own too. I just hoped I'm blessed like many of the others on these posts. Thanks.
I was 32 when I had my TR done. I ended up with just one open tube at about 3cms. Over the next 3 years I tried clomid, iuis, etc., but moved on to ivf just before I turned 35. Until then I had never had my fsh done, but prior to starting my first cycle I had to have one. It came back at 10.1 ! Then I did a clomid challenge that raised it even more to 13. Long story short, this doctor told me my ovaries were aging too quickly and basically gave me little hope of getting pg using my own eggs.
Well, I'm happy to report that even with an fsh that high, not ALL your eggs are crappy like some docs will have you believe. I have 7 month old twin boys conceived on my first ivf cycle (using a different doctor/clinic that had more experience with high fsh patients).

I'm 42, my fsh is 6 as of a year ago and my opk was positive this morning. Had TR 4/21/08 and my tubes are 2.5 cm on each side. No BFP yet but this is the first month we're able to try so we'll see.

Thanks for the input. Mercy123 - I didn't know your FSH would go down - I wonder if the TR affected it? Anita and Andrea, I'm so sorry for the frustrations and MC - but maybe there is still hope, I'll be rooting for you! I'm 41 and had my TR last month. My FSH before TR was 2 or less - extrememly low - I didn't know if there was such a thing as too low?! I think my tube lengths are around 6.5 and 7 cm each - but I'm tall (5'9") and am told that tube lengths are proportionate to height. I hope more TR ladies chime in. Thanks.
