This is to also THANK all of the staff at Chapel Hill. I had trouble finding a babysitter at the last minute and Jennifer was wonderful in getting information to me immediately. Patty was very kind and understood some of the embarrassment that I was having with the visit with her and assured me that it was fine. Patty and I also discovered that we were the same age with one month apart. This kind conversation made it easy to feel relaxed. Laura and the others that helped prep me for surgery made me feel totally relaxed. Laura asked if I got cold easily and when I said yes, she got me a warm blanket immediately. Thank you Laura. Sally was so kind and polite and told me how cute my boys were. Reassured me that things looked fine and that we could go home. Dr. Berger, during the consultation, thank you for helping me understand why my husband was so nervous. I guess wanting to have my TR was so important that I forgot how my husband would feel. I am sorry that I wasn't quite awake after surgery to hear what you said. For any other staff members that I may have forgotten, it isn't that you weren't important, it is that I hadn't gotten much sleep from all the things happening in my life.
I would recommend your facility to anyone and tell them that you couldn't receive better care.

Thank you so much for your kind words. It was a pleasure meeting you and your mother, and taking care of you after surgery! As a nurse, it really is a great pleasure to work here because we have the time to take care of patients the right way, and Dr. Berger and the whole staff makes this a top priority. Deb, Congrats on a great TR experience. Your post just makes me even MORE excited that I'll be in Chapel Hill - at the center - two weeks from this moment. I know it's odd but I almost feel glad I had my TL and that this reversal is part of our journey for a baby...I don't mean to make light of anyone's regrets but for me, this feels just so right.

I could truly turn this into one lonnnnnng post.
I'd love to go on and on about how wonderful Dr Berger and his staff treated me. They were extremely professional and so very sweet and kind. I had read about their way...but until you experience it, you can not believe how different these people are from others in the medical community. I know they are a "specialty" but I have worked with doctors and their staff through my work (Physician Recruiter) and they have surpassed and exceeded any expectations.
From my initial visit with Patty...to the care in recovery from Rachel... I was treated wonderfully and was not in any pain at all. Pain management was very important to them.. they numb you for IVs.. I was comfortable right when I awoke from surgery... and I received ample pain meds to take with me. I'm amazed at how wonderful I feel...still! Thank you so much Jennifer for all the time you spent initially with me on the phone... Patty.. for your patience and kindness at my consult.. and Rachel & Lisa for your care before and after surgery. Sally.. you are a doll.. and I thank you for coming to see me at the hotel. I thank everyone who was involved in some way with me and my Mother while at Dr. Berger's. You were all so incredible...
Dr. Berger... I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You're a wonderful doctor but you also have a kind heart and a true passion to help women. I'm glad you were my doctor. I'm glad I got to meet such a special man.
Well, now that I have my thank you's accounted for. I want to tell you how excited we are.. I got 3.5 on one side and 5 on the other. We are very happy with this and will be trying for baby in July... We are over the moon happy! We're so thankful we even have a chance, now... Hope it happens soon..as I am 39..
I'll be hanging around and watching all your progress. I got to meet a couple of the girls at the Sheraton and I'm looking forward to keeping in touch with them, too. Good luck to all! If you haven't had your TR, yet...rest assured.. you've found the right place!
