trish here, i want to thank everyone for all your answer. i have a very active job. i'm pulling or case carts packing the carts and filling them with supplies so i guess its gonna take me awhile to get back to work. but i cant wait till i get to scedule my surgery. sometime this year just have to save for time off work.
The time frame for recovery usually runs about one week. However, it must be taken into account that everyone is different when it comes to recovery and pain tolerance.

I am 32 I had my TR done 11-10-05 that was a thursday. We drove home (ohio) Friday. I went back to work on Monday. I have a desk job I did fine. I was sore but then that night my son broke his arm and I had to take him to the ER and we ended spending the night there. So needless to say I was very sore the next day after sleeping in a reclining chair all night.

I had my TR on 2/13/06. It is 3 weeks today and I am still a bit sore, but I was able to do most activities the following week. While I was reading, I have to agree that many people think we are crazy also. My DH and I have been married for 12 years. I am 35 he is 39. We have three children 7,9,11. Had my TL at 29 and have regreted it ever since. We are now at a time in our lives where we honestly believe another child would bless and enrich not only our lives, but our children as well. I have a friend that said, "What is missing from your life that you need to go and do this? You are living the American dream. You are 35, you have 3 healthy children, a big house and you don't work. What is it?" "To share this experience again with my DH and children is my dream," I replied.

Trish, I had my TR on 2/10 & didn't go back til 2/21. I wasn't feeling up for anything that next week. I have a desk job too but when I went back it was very uncomfortable for me to have to sit at a desk all day long. It seemed to put alot of pressure on the incision. If you can take a week then why not? Good luck! Leslie

Many women ask how much time they will need to take leave from work after a tubal reversal. This varies among different individuals and depends also on the nature of your job. Based on over 5000 outpatient tubal reversal operations performed by Dr. Berger at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center, the usual time for recovery and return to work is one week or less.

I had mine done this past Wed, and they suggested I take 2 weeks off, and no lifting, pulling or pushing more than 15 lbs for 4 weeks, I have a very physical job, I am a house keeper at a hotel.I guess it depends on your job.

Trish, I'm 38 and just had my TR 1/3/06, on a Tuesday. I went back to work as an ER nurse on Friday, just taking it easy--no lifting, etc. I was a little sore that weekend, but fine after that. I just didn't do any heavy lifting (over 10 lbs) for four weeks. And you are definitely not too old!!!! Good luck!! Becky

Trish, 37 is not old. I am 41 and I will be having my TR on Thursday March 9th. & I will be going back to work on Wed. the 14th. I sit in front of a computer all day and everyone at work knows I am having the surgery so I know they will be there for me. Don't listen to other people...what do they know? Everyone around me has been very supportive once they got used to the idea. Seems I now have more volunteer nannies than I will ever need!

Hi Trish, I am 38, I will be 39 in June. I am scheduled to have my tr on March 29th 37 is DEFINATELY not too old Many think I am nuts too...but I don't care. It is my life, not theirs, so I will do what makes my life complete, and not tell them what to do in theirs (even though I might want to sometimes ) Best of luck to you! Julia

I had my TR on Friday and was back to work Monday. I have a desk job and had everyone doing any lifting I needed done. I was a little slow getting around, wore stretchy pants and slip-on sandles so I didn't have to worry about tieing my shoes. I was surprised at how well I got around after the surgery.
