Hi All, Although I am not the oldest here, I feel my AMA must be messing with my mind, because I posted elsewhere that I will be 47 in May, when I will ONLY be 46. All those years of 'lying' about my age....I couldn't figure it out.
My stats: son-23 son-21 dau-20 son-12 dau-7-TL All at home....no grandbabies in the near future and I'm starting to 'dream' about them.
TR 4/13/2004 hsg 8/04 proved tubes blocked
Lap/hsy 10/04 to remove scarring, became pg that month to have b/o in 12/04.
Did Gonal-F injections 3x with IUI
Numerous hsgs all showed tubes open
PG Jan07 only to loose that one @ 11 weeks (low PGN) and a doctor that didn't believe in supplements
I believe I O'd yesterday/early this morning....temp has risen..... hubby was more than happy to oblige at 1:30am when he came home from work. Actually this month, I didn't even care whether or not we even got around to it. It feels like such a waste of time....pathetic, huh.......
Ugh....the 2ww is just a fantasy world for me, I already know the ending.
Time to get my 'baby' on the bus and shovel the drive.......when will this snow end??? I so dislike Chicago Winters!!!!

OK...I just posted this "?" on Over 40 and TTC. I think I must be the matriarch. I'll be 50 in April and no one else has come forward to admit that yet!!!
I have three grown children and two grandchildren ages 3 and 1. I had my TL 21 years ago this month and I had my TR on the 8th.
DH is God's gift to me after being widowed for several years and it feels as if life has begun anew for me. Had the TR and the plan is to put things back the way nature intended and then let her take her course. I know the odds are against me given my age, but all other factors (health, fitness level, FSH, genetics etc.) are in good shape.
DH and I have vowed to take what comes BFP or not, but I'll secretly admit that my yens are growing. Being a mother is the best and most rewarding thing I have ever done.
Just having the opportunity to experience it again, and give a child the benefit of my life and...(wisdom?)...well at least at my age a lot of my mistakes are behind me! This time around, I'll know not to sweat the small stuff, and let the cobwebs gather while I concentrate on living and loving!
Good luck to all. We are proof that life (and ladies) just get better with time!
I turned 40 back in October. I have an almost 4 year old TR son that I gave birth to at 36. I then used an IUD for 18 months. After having it taken out I got a BFP 4 months later which ended in early m/c. That was June, 2006 and nothing since. We just thought it would happen again, but it hasn't. I had CD3 bloodwork done this cycle and have FSH=5.1, E2=57 and LH=5.3. My doc said these numbers are excellent. So why no more BFP's? My DH isn't ready to try anything else yet. But I guess we aren't out of the game yet. I know I am very blessed to have one TR baby. And, I also trust God to see the big picture and give me what he knows is best. Best of luck to each and everyone of you!

I have been reading the posts since just before my tubal reversal on 12/11/06 and have not posted a reply until now. I turned 45 this past December. I married for the first time at 41, got pregnant two months later, and had our son at 42. I decided to have my tubes tied during my c-section, a c-section that was not expected, because of my failure to progress after being induced. I felt I was just too old to have more children. The pregnancy took a lot out of me both physically and mentally (and I am referring to the genetics testing here) and I didn't want to go through the stress of it all again. In hindsight, this was a mistake for which I will always be sorry. After meeting with two doctors in my area and being told that the only option was IVF with poor pregnancy statistics (5%), I was told to go home and enjoy my son. I was fortunate, as were all of you, to have found Dr. Berger, and, after the optional pre-surgery blood tests (to ensure that I was still ovulating), was given the green light to go for the surgery. Since then, my husband has had two unexpected open heart surgeries which has prohibited us from trying to conceive each month. I have had HSGs as well as the requisite blood tests, and have been told that there is nothing wrong with me, that I am just old. I have been told that it is time for egg donation, which I am opposed to. I want my son to have a little brother or sister. I hope for a miracle just like all of you. Maybe this will be our year...I pray for each and every one of you...
I’m 40, so not the oldest. I definitely consider myself lucky to be among you. We’re all a testament to our drive and devotion and I hope that we all succeed in achieving our goal! I had my reversal on 5/31/07 and have only 1 tube. I got my first BFP last Tuesday; finally! My numbers are low and just within normal range, but did double from the first to second test. We’re hoping today’s numbers have doubled again (plus some). ...and I thought the 2WW was bad! Unfortunately we’re afraid to dance just yet, I have occasional cramping and pains, which could be normal I guess, but we’re very worried that we might have an EC or will MC. Only time will tell if our little bean is ok and sticky in the right place. I'm praying for us all!!

It's so nice to know that I'm not the only "mature" lady hoping to have a baby. I'm 40 and will be returning to CH again this year for a second reversal (first time around the tubes closed shut with scar tissue). The first one was in 2002 when I was a spry 34. I'm hoping I don't have the same problem this time. If I had one wish for everyone on the board it would be that each and every one of you get the baby (babies) you desire. Good luck to you all.
