Brandi......I'm just hoping this works,I think I went up on my dose to quick, My RE said to take one pill(500mg) for the first week, then up it to two pills the 2nd week, by the 3rd week I would be up to 3 pills and then on the 4th week I would be up to the dose I was suppose to be taking...4pills a day!!!!
Is that right? 2000mg of Metformin a day??????? That just seems like a lot!

I started taking it last Sunday, then I started 2 pills by Wednesday because I was not having any side effects with just one, but with two....for get it!! I get so sick!
I went back down to one pill yesterday and felt fine. I will try to go back up to 2 pills today.
I take it after lunch because that is my large meal for the day.
I have noticed that if I only eat fruit and vegatables that I feel fine, but if I eat anything else I get sick. I can't wait to loose weight and the Met is giving me a head start.
Good luck to you on your TTC journey......

Babydust,
Roxann

Hi Roxann, I was just reading your post on Metformin. I know what you mean about being sick, but it will pass. I was only on 500 mg a day and the first week was a little rough. My weight started dropping almost immediately. No matter how healthy I ate, I could not lose weight. I believe that was due to insulin resistance and the met really help level everything out.

I began seeing an RE about 2 months ago and they took me off the Met so I could go through a whole battery of test without the met interfering with the results. I had to be off the met for 6 wks for it to be completely out of my system. Well it is totally out of my system now and even though I haven't changed my eating habits and still eat healthy, the weight is slowing creeping back up. I don't like being on medication, but I starting to hope I can go back on it once my test results come back.

I hope you get to feeling better soon!!!

Hey Roxann - I sure hope you're feeling better soon! That does not sound like any fun at all.

I did check my thermometer, and it does not have the choice of Celcius or Fahrenheit... just Fahrenheit. So, I know it's not that. Who knows. Maybe it's my restless nights of sleep - or maybe headaches (i've been taking tylenol for)...or, maybe i'm just not ovulating.

I'd really like to go on some diet, too... oh well. We'll see what happens in a week or so.

Happy Mother's Day!

This is the reason why my RE prescribed Metformin to me:
She said I was borderline PCOS because of my acne on my face, my weight around my belly and because my testosterone level was 64 and she said it needed to be under 60?
All my other blood test came back normal, even my insulin.
I didn't even think I would have PCOS because I have regular periods and I know I ovulate every month.
I just hope this medicine works, because it is knocking me down off my feet!! I'm down for the count!

Lisa.....On my BBT, it measures in F' or C', Does yours do that to? If so maybe you accidently changed your setting on it? I don't know....just a thought??? or maybe you haven't ovulated yet? Just keep BD!

I don't know how I'm going to survive this medicine!!! Metformin! OMG!! I'm so sick [Frown]
Tonight was the first night I threw up in a long time. The last time I threw up was about 2 yrs ago(hangover)! lol
I took my clomid at 5pm but got sick at 8pm, I don't know if the clomid came up too????
This drug is so strong! I'm only up to 2 pills right now, I have to start the dosage low and work it up weekly. By week 4 I should be on 4 pills daily! The doctor said if the side effects get so bad I have to lower the dose again until they subside and then up the dose again! Tomorrow I will go back down to one until I can stay out of the bathroom!
The best part about this drug is that I know I'm losing weight! [Smile]

I hope all my June sisters are doing good, Have a relaxing weekend ladies......

Yeah.... I'm not sure what that's all about. I haven't taken any more OPK's since that positive I got the other day - so the only thing I'm thinking is, maybe it was a "false positive". I had started a new kit that day, different brand (First Response), but the lines were the same shade, to me. I didn't want to waste any more sticks, so I haven't done anymore. I'm not going to worry about it, though. We seem to be covering the basis pretty well, I think (unless by now, DH is shooting blanks! lol). We'll find out within two weeks. [Smile]

Lisa,
I peeked at your chart this morning and your temps are still low. What's up with that? Are you comfortable with posting it as a new thread to get some advice? I know there are alot of expert charters out there that could maybe offer some insight.
Just a thought,
Jen

Lisa,
I have no idea which one you should use for sure, but if it were me, I would go ahead and use the first one. Its wierd that you haven't gotten a clear post-O temp shift. Maybe someone else will chime in and give you a better answer.
Tomorrow is Friday and I can't wait!!!

Take care all!!

I need a little advice: Took my temp this morning, and first temp was 97.15. I thought this seemed too low, so I immediately took it again, and it was 97.23. I'm not sure which to put on my chart. And to make things confusing..I thought for sure I'd see it shift above the previous day. [Confused] [Confused]

I hope the meds work for you, too, Roxann, and don't make you feel sick.

Jen - wow - I can't believe that was a whole year ago! Yes - thanks goes out to Ronda for getting us started. We MISS YOU RONDA!

Hopefully I'll be able to see on my chart, soon, the date of ovulation, so that I can jump in the 2WW.

Tara - how is it going for you? Time to test yet? I think it is! test, test, test!

Jen....WOW! I'm so glad I have all of you too.

Ronda....Thank you for getting us all started, Sure do wish you would join us again. We are here for you if you need us.

Lisa.....The medicine I'm on is Metformin, It's a level two diabetic medicine but is used to treat PCOS also. I hope it works!

I go for a scan today to make sure I don't have any cyst before I start my Clomid again.

Have a great day ladies [Smile]

Hopefully DH and I will get lucky this cycle..

Ok, mark me as CD1………….I will do 100mg of Clomid CD3-7 again, and IUI when I get a positive on my OPK. I think this time I will get the IUI the day after my positive instead of the day of. I like to experiment with things.
I am going to start exercising again. I know I will be losing some weight because that medicine the RE gave me is already making me sick. She did say not to eat anything high in fat and stay away from carbohydrates while on this medicine. She said it makes the side effects worse. If anything this medicine will clear up my acne and help me loose weight!

Tara……..Wishing you a BFP………..POAS………..POAS…………POAS!
Wow! I can’t believe it is going to be a year already…..your right time has flown by!

Lisa………….Do a little dance, make a little love, get down tonight!

Jen……Time is going by so fast before you know it our June baby will be here.

Susan…..I hope your doing ok, please check in soon. If your sister in law is reading this maybe she could relay this message to you……”We Miss you”

Shelia……What have you been up to?

Ronda, Mariluz, Kathy and Christina……. I hope everything is fine with you, sending you some babydust.
