To Stacey 1:

My 1st husband was diabetic (since he was 17 months old) and he fathered 2 children...the only concern was his fertility as he had been in 2 diabetic comas during his teen years.

Your DH's diabetes Dr. should be able to add more specific insight with his medical history.

Good luck to you!

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. I will be calling tomorrow and getting my operative and pathology reports. I do have a few concerns, my hubby is a diabetic does that lower our chances? How long before you can start trying? Also does anyone here live in Alabama?
Sorry so many questions I am just so excited to see other people in the boat with me. [Big Grin]

Julianna-your fiance should have a simple semen analysis to put your fears at rest or identify any problems.
Stacey 1-you're not too old!
I wish you both the best of luck, you've come to the right place!

Hi my name is Stacey. I was very excited to find this site. I am 36 and had my TL in 1998 right after my 2nd child was born via C- Section. Me and my hubby are high school sweethearts and have been together for 18 years. We have two children a son 8 and a daughter almost 7. We have been thinking about this for a couple of years but had lots of people tell us we were crazy or to old! I really am hoping to find support here and it is great to see I am not the oldest.

Hi, I am a new member and a little nervous. I just sent my operative report to Dr. Berger yesterday and am anxious for a reply. I had my TL in 1992 and had immediate regrets, it is wonderful to know that I might have a second chance to give birth again. My fiancee is also nervous. He has no children but loves my 2 as if they were his. Our other fear is that he may not be able to father children. He is 39 with no children. It is encouraging to read all the posts, I look forward to reading more.

Hi my name is Kathy Peters I'm 29. I had my TL in 1996 when I had my twins. My husband and I have been married for 5 years and we would like to have a baby together. I do have 3 of my own and he treats them as if they were his. It will be wonderful to give him our own also. I just got back from my TR. I just wanted you all to know that Dr. Berger and all his staff are wonderful people. They make you feel at home. We both just had a very pleasant stay. We went all the way fromm Walla Walla, Wa. My email is mickeymouse555@go.com

Heather,

You've come to the right place, as I think we all have. I am so glad I found Dr. Berger and took the time to join the message board. This is the first one I've ever joined and I love the feeling of support I get here.

Hello, Jennifer! My name is Heather and this is only my second post, so I am new here, too. I read so many stories and they all sound so similar to mine! I am 32 and I am married to the best guy. It took me a while to find him, but we are getting ready to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary! [Smile] I am hoping to schedule the TR soon, as we are lucky enough to have the money, but my school schedule is pretty crazy right now! I have three children from my first marriage, but my DH has not had the chance to have any yet. He is so sweet! He loves my children to death and they feel the same towards him. When he runs into people he hasn't seen since high school, he tells them he has three kids, so we are lucky, but I know it's not really the same as having your own babies. I wish you all the best, and lots of 'baby dust' to all those who have had their TR's! My email is baylee9273@yahoo.com and you can email me anytime! Good luck!

Hi Marie, I am also a new member. I am 32 and had my TL at the age of 22. Since then, I gained weight, had terrible periods and the mood swings are a nightmare. I just do not feel like myself 7 days prior to my period. I started drinking tea with chamomile and on the package it has a lady riding a dragon in a red dress, LOL. My boyfriend says that is me and I call it the RED ZONE ( 7 days before period). I cannot explain how terrible I am. I say things I do not mean and I am just mean. I am hoping that having a TR will make me feel whole again. I would also like to give the boyfriend a child after we are married. He has no children of his own. He is 37 and we have been together 4 years. I sent my pathology report in a few days ago and it looks like as soon as I am ready I can schedule my surgery. Reading all of these posts makes me want to do it as soon as possible. I hope to get to know everyone on here and share experiences and thoughts. Everyone seems so genuine and nice. I am eyezofbella on YIM and AIM if anyone ever just wants to chat.
