I just recently switched my primary care Dr.My Fiance and I explained our plans of having the TR done and our Dr even has arranged our blood work etc. in a way that our insurance will pay for it. I m not sure it is totally legal but he agrees with my symptoms and is very undetstanding. I am having the TR done primarly to have a baby, but I believe I have PTLS. My first Dr told us good luck no one will even agree that there is such a thing as PTLS. I never went back to her again. (IGGNORANT)I gave my new Dr all of Dr. Berger's information and he says now he is excited for me and belives in Dr . B practice. I am glad I found the right Dr. Good Luck to all the Ladies and look around for an underdstanding Dr they are out there. I AM SO EXCITED TO HAVE A REASON FOR ALL THE CRAZY MOODS AND DEPRESSION I HAVE FELT FOR SEVEN LONG YEARS I STARTED OUT WANTING A TR FOR ANOTHER BABY BUT AFTER READING ALL THIS I REALIZE I HAVE SO MUCH MORE TO LOOK FORWARD TOO THANK YOU
Your welcome, Pebble, my OB/GYN did my TL in July 2004 and was furious with me that I went ahead and had a TR in August of 2006. She yelled at me and stated, "Why did you do that"?
She took offense that I did not discuss the situation with her but I already knew her personality and I chose not too!
I went to see her today and the Midwife asked, "Grace, why did you have TR when IVF would have been better"? I explained to her my three objectives for having the TR and she was shocked that I mentioned the dirty word of PTLS.
She immediatley got up and walked away. No one wants to hear about PTLS, I am not sure why but what a DISSERVICE they are doing to women. Shame on them!

Hi my name is Stacey, I too am hoping to have my TR end of feb. or march.Waiting on tax return also. Thank you Grace41 for posting that PTLS symtoms list.Thats me almost every one. A baby would be nice, but my main reason for this surgery is for relief of PTLS.I tried to talk with my DR. about it to give her some insite and to find out what she knew about it herself, but she just acted as if she needed to hurry up and leave. She said she didnt know anything about that or how it could be related to what is wrong with me.My main reason for bring it up was to see if she would help by ordering my blood work so my insur. would cover that. The way she talked she might but the way she acted seemed very wierd to me, like she was nervous. Well good luck to all of you,and I hope we all are back to NORMAL soon!
Please consider a TR if you are experiencing PTLS, I did and only wish I had done so eariler.
After reading many posts from woman suffering from PTLS I started a thread called, "Significant PTLS relief since TR" last posted on Jan. 11, 07. I found some very important information regarding PTLS. Check it out! Print it for your doctors too! They will be glad that you did!
I am also looking to do TR for the ptls symptoms mainly. I had a TL about 10 years ago and straight away afterwards suffered from a lot of headaches and irregular and heavy periods and bad pmt. I had never suffered of any of this. When I went to see my doctor I was told it was due to my age. I mentioned that it started straight after the Tl but was dismissed as if I was a nuisance. I was so relieved to find it was not in my imagination but that it was called PTLS and went straight ahead with booking a TR. If I subsequently fall pregnant even better!

Although pregnancy is the goal for most of Dr. Berger's tubal reversal patients, many say they have had their reversal surgery just to become whole again.
Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome (PTLS) refers to a variety of symptoms that are first reported after a tubal ligation and may be attributed to the operation. Common symptoms include increased menstrual pain, bleeding, and premenstrual tension. Whether or not these symptoms are caused by the tubal ligation has been debated for decades in the medical literature, with some studies supporting and others disputing such causation.
Many women have posted on the Tubal Reversal Message Board about their personal experience of symptoms of PTLS and relief of their symptoms after tubal reversal surgery. Here is a link to some of these Messages About PTLS.

Gee,!! Anyone experienced dizziness??? I have headaches, lower back pain and I've been dizzy for the last few days even lying or sitting down. And I'm in rage... just before Christmas wow!!!. One of the good news is that I have an appointment next Wednesday with my OBGYN to tell her that the BCP didn't work, and to tell her again all about how I feel. She will probably want to give me some antidepressant (like the last time I saw her)but no thank you. Anyway, I will ask her for the transcript of my tl and plan to have my tr after the holidays..let you know.....

Well a good portion of the reason I am wanting to have a tubal ligation reversal is because of the miserable time I have during my cycle each month. Before I had my tl I had very little problems during my cycle. Now I have very heavy bleeding, very unbearable cramps and just feel miserable in general for about 9 days. I had my tubal in 2002 and am hoping to be scheduling my reversal by the middle of next week. I know my husband is behind me having it done to help me feel normal again!
