i am going crazy, i can't believe the damage that the tubal ligation did to my body and my mind. so much harm, this procedure shouldnt be allowed to be done on a human body, my symptoms are endless
1)loss of sex drive
2)dry vagina
3)poor memory
4)spider veins in my legs
5)loss of energy
6) moody and bad temper
7) tingling and needels in my legs
8)change in my body odor
9)headackes
10)weight gain
i never was so miserable in my life and did not know why, so i went for blood work and the result showed extremly low sex hormones. my gyno said she is puzzeled, can not understand why , she sais you are only 37 ,it cant be menapause.
my sex life has been so unpredictable, my husband cant understand how to deal with me ... we lost our intimacy and the fun.
is there any medication out there that can give me some releif?

Yeah, I already got the DVD last month. It just makes me want to go there even more. I'm not looking to have any more children, as I already have four and one grandson, but it would be nice to have my body back together and just having the possibility and the choice would make me feel more like a woman again. Not to mention the other symptoms that will hopefully improve. I know exactly what you mean about the intimacy problem. I'm not sure my husband and I will ever be the same. If and when I ever come up with the money, I have a long distance to travel, as I live in Washington state. I will definitely have to fly, and that's something I've never done before. But I'm willing to do just about anything...

You can request a DVD/video of Dr. Berger performing a TR surgery. It costs $4.95 for S/H.

Well, I am glad if I made you chuckle. I know that laughs are few and far between when you feel like this...I am still nervous about having surgery (my 3 C-S's were done by an OB practice I have been with for 22 years and I have really not had any other surgery except for the lovely kidney stones I got from the bad dehydration of PG #3 in '05!) I am more nervous at the thought of feeling like THIS indefinitely.. I truly believe, after hearing many of the women's stories here..that this TR will help me get my life back. I also feel very fortunate (despite how bad this has been for 3 years) that I do already have 3 healthy kids who are great. I had 6 pregnancies with 3 children to show for it so I can relate to the women here who walk through fire to get and stay pregnant. I am grateful for what I have but want to feel normal and light hearted again. DH and I used to be best friends until I went over to the dark side! I strive to get that back! I know it seems far to go for help (across the whole country) but when you put your health in someone's hands you want to make sure it is the most qualified person to help you...that is why we will make the 9 hour drive (I hate to fly and we are trying to save some $$$) to get this done. This is also the lowest cost for surgery I have seen out there. By the way, you can actually see a TR surgery done on YouTube if you are inclined or curious..

MOMZILLA,
I love the part about your husband can't have sex with the kitchen-it made me laugh, even though I'm not in a good mood right now. I know what you mean, though. My husband is having a really tough time with my not wanting to have sex. I just wish I was going for my TR soon like you are.

Brenda0704,
I have all the same issues as everyone here, including acne I never even had as a teenager, hair that is breaking and jumping ship, tingling in my arms and legs, awful PMS and heavy bleeding, feeling "off" and having a sense of dread for no reason, short-tempered with a self-imposed exile from my family/kids. I have been exhausted, unable to lose weight after my last child/TL in 2005. All my blood work and tests were normal and I have been told I am just tired b/c I have 3 young kids and a job! I had no idea the TL could cause these symptoms and once I started hearing more stories I began researching the issue. I am using some money we were planning for a kitchen renovation but, since DH cannot have sex with the kitchen..we figured this would be money better spent (LOL)..I have to make a 9 hour drive from NJ to NC because I could not find an MD here who has the experience Dr. Berger has and my husband would rather I go to an expert far away than find someone in NYC who might do it for us. I hope on 6/2 that everything will turn around. I wish the same for everyone who suffers this way..Life is too short to feel like this!
Me 43
DH 44
DD 12/99
DS 2/03
DS 3/05
TL w/ C-S delivery on 3/16/05
TR 6/2/08
LIFE BACK,hopefully, shortly thereafter...

Good Luck to everyone on the same quest!

Hello Brenda,
I don't live close to NC and also have travel problems, as we have 3 girls ages 5 through 11. I talked to my ob/gyn about Dr. Berger versus others in this area. My ob/gyn recommended that if I really wanted a TR, I go to someone who specializes in it. He must have repeated himself six times while I was in the office because he felt so strongly about his point! Because it will be difficult for my DH to travel with me, I have talked to my mom and she has agreed to come. I hope that you can find a plan that works for you.

Brenda,
I pretty much have the same problems you do but mine are low sex drive and having trouble with the big O ....I also searched for a doc in Texas to perform the TR but, the only one I found was 7 hours away and he was 3 thousand dollars more than doc berger and his specialty is abortion!! So I did not feel right having someone like that doing my TR...my husband was able to work over time and we were able to save up for the surgery...I am scheduled for may 12th and I am very excited....I know it seems like a long way to travel but it's worth it to get the surgery done by someone who is so experienced and who cares:)
Good Luck

I researched a couple of clinics in Colorado and come to find out they were going to cost more than Dr. Berger and the travel combined, so we opted for Dr. Berger, which I am so glad we did. I have had the same problems with sex drive that most of you have described in this thread and I can honestly say that I am noticing a difference in the way sex feels already. I had my TR on 3/7 and things are already improving. I have even noticed a difference in my skin already; lotion actually works and my skin is softening up. My hair even looks healthier. I don't know, maybe it is all mind over matter, but I am satisfied regardless.

Brenda0704,
Maybe there is a friend or 2 that could help you guys out. I know that it is preferable to have DH with you at the TR, but maybe there is a friend that could go with you to CH and another that could help out with child care so DH could continue to work while you were gone. Have you looked into MedChoice financing for a loan? Our payment is $202 a month for the next 5 years, but we have the option to pay it off without interest accrual within the year, so our plan is to pay it off next income tax returns. Just a thought!! Good luck in whatever you choose to do!

Prior to selecting Dr Berger, I did a lot of research in the state of Missouri. My Primary Care Dr even made a suggestion. I found that Dr's that don't specialize in it, such as Dr Berger are a lot more expensive. They were asking for up to 10K for the procedure. I was able to travel and pay for Dr. Berger' services cheaper than that. I wish you the best on your journey.

You can always call a OBGYN near you and ask about getting a TR and they will usually point you to one close by. I can not tell you how good they would be though so be sure to look into their background ok. Best to you.

I have a new question. Does anyone know if there are any qualified TR doctors in WA state? Dr. Berger sounds great and I would love to be able to go to him, but I don't have any money and it would be about impossible for me to travel that far. My husband couldn't miss much work, and we don't really have dependable child care. I could possibly use a credit card to pay for the surgery, but that's about it. I haven't been able to find much info when I search the web. Does anybody know of a doctor in my area? Thanks.

Brenda I wish you the best. We looked at a TR for 3 years before being able to set the date. God moved after many prayers and blessed with the money in February and we set our big day. We will be in CH on March 23-24-25. Surgery will be on the 24. Miranda
