You girls are great! I told my husband last night about what I had found and for a guy I was completely amazed about the questions he was asking and truley enthused with everything I was telling him. [Smile] My stats are ME-25, DH-32, DS-5, DD-1 (March 14th). I'm not sure about the remainder of my tubes honestly my OB Dr. then was more in a rush to get my c-section and tubal over so he could get to Disney on vacation with his family. He even showed me how much he cut off during the surgery itself! Which seemed like alot to me but hoenstly I don't kno what was there before to really be able to say. Did you girls get your reports from the Dr or did you have to request them from the hospital? I had c-sections with both my children my first was painful but I was able to rest with him being the only my second was extremely painful and the pain meds were not strong enough or enough given after I came home within 2 days taking them like I was supposed to I was still in pain and out of meds to which my Dr. said I had been on them long enough and take Moltrin. Yeah not the greatest experiance. That's why I'm so curious about the recovery with this to know how painful it's going to be and if the medicine is going to touch it. I live about 8 hours from the CH office so it will be quiet a ride back to be in alot of discomfort. I'm not sure when were going to schedule yet. My husband is in the military and is set for 2 more long deployments before he goes back to shore duty and I really want him home for all of this so were looking at about a year give or take and it seems so far away!

Mistydawn729 congrats on finding CH its a wonderful place to start your journey for your TR. My tubes were cauterized as well 3cm were removed and I sent my op notes to Dr. Berger and he said I was an excellent canidate for surgery. I think I felt the same way you did about jumping the gun and having the TL I had just had my 1st son in Aug then in Feb I found out I was pregnant again my husband was in school full time for law enforcement and we were living off mainly my income and then what little he was making since he only worked maybe 15 hours each week because of school and we were struggling and then when I gave birth to my second son the epidural did not take effect and then when the dr came in to give me more meds it was to late and I just did not think I could go thru it agin and I def didnt want to become pregnant 6 months later again so I opted for the TL and I had to wait 6 weeks after I delivered my son vaginally before I could get it and then pressure from family you need to get it done so you dont end up in this situtation again but now its my turn to make right the wrong I did. I finally called and scheduled my TR with Dr. Monteith for 8/4/08 Im so excited, I opted for Dr. M because of the $1000 reduction and I figured if Dr. B trust him I have no reason not to. I wish you luck on this endevor its a wonderful journey. Do you think you will be scheduling soon? GL in whatever you decide. Here are my stats. Jennifer in NC

Welcome Mistydawn, this is a great board. The surgery was not so bad, you'll just be a little sore for a few days. Dr. Berger and everyone at CH are great and are such a support system. You can email or call anytime and they respond quickly and are so helpful. When you get your report just send to Dr. Berger and he will let you know if you are a good candidate. Dr. Berger is awesome he can pretty much reverse anything!!
Good Luck and God Bless

Welcome Mistydawn,

here is a link that you can click on the type of TL you had and it will give you more information about the specific TL.
http://www.tubal-reversal.net/tubal_ligation_fallopian_tube.htm

Then your next step is to get your Op report from when you had the TL done and send it into Dr. Berger at chapel hill. He will review it and see if you are a good canidate for TR. Then you are rady to go..
The nurses at chapel hill are wonderful and will help you every step of the way with everything.
My TR was WAY better then when I had my TL done. That HURT!!! My TR I was a little sore but after the ride home I was off all pain meds and felt great!!!!

You'll love the boards - you'll find wonderful friendships and great support and love here...

I was just like you - I thougt I was done with our kids and my DH wanted more- SO I made the choice for my TL and regreted it ever since!!!
I had my TR in 03-09-07 and I am due sept 15-08

I am so happy to have found this place! I have my tubal ligation just over a year ago after the birth of my second child. My husband wanted more kids I really thought that I didn't so I pretty much made that decision. Within the past 6 months I have really got to thinking that I have made the wrong decision and have been trying to find information about getting it undone. I know it sounds terrible, but I think I just jumped the gun on it after a rough pregnancy I didn't think I could handle it again but once the pregnancy was over those feeling went away and now my daughter is awesome and the more my husband and myself have talked the more we want another! This facility sounds great. Is there anyone here that can give me a little more insight into what to expect from the surgery etc... My tubes were cauterized (sp?). I'm not sure how much of them is even left I'm in the process now of getting my medical records.
