Gwen,
yes i do have seven kids total. My husband and I both have three from a previous marriage and the one IVF baby together. We both come from large combined families so I guess it's only natural to want alot of kids. I have been blessed with no negativity about the amount of children we have. I spoke to one of the nurses at the clinic about two weeks ago and they told me what they thought. So my husband and I are looking at trying to schedule in Aug for the TR and take our chances. It was all weird because I just recently came into some extra money that is the amount that we need for the procedure. I believe god is telling us to go for it.

Hi, Ladies:
In a small percentage of cases, a tubal ligation procedure leaves only the distal portion of the fallopian tube and no proximal tubal opening into the uterus. This may occur when monopolar tubal coagulation has been applied to the isthmic segment of the fallopian tube as it emerges from the uterus. It is also a likely scenarion following the Essure procedure. In this situation, a new opening can be created through the uterine muscle and the remaining tubal segment inserted into the uterine cavity.

This microsurgical procedure is called tubal implantation, tubouterine implantation, or uterotubal implantation. Dr. Berger performs microsurgical tubal implantation if microsurgical tubal anastomosis is not possible due to the absence of a proximal tubal segment and interstitial tubal lumen.

I hope this is helpful.

Mmmyofsever, Do you really have 7 children? I have 10 children. Before I had my TR I was worried that Dr. B would not perform the surgery, because I already had so many. BUT he was fine with the number of children I have and he said it wasn't a problem. He didn't even act disgusted. I know that some people are appauled by the number. My last OB thught I was personally responsible for world over population and that our combined carbon foor print was enugh to set off the final collaspe of the ozone layer....lol

Thank you ladies for the encouragment. My Dr. was a military dr. who I'm assuming didn't have alot of reversals under her blet. She did bless me with the chance to have my daughter through IVF so I do thank her for that. I am just glad I decided to do some research this time. I have sent my report to Dr. G and am waiting to hear back the nurse said it sounds like it should work. I guess I'm just nervous about getting my hopes up. I have talked to dr here in town (Anchorage Alaska) but they want me to spend money on a consult to tell me stuff I already know which was similar to the ordeal we had to do with the IVF. And they talked about doing an exam which had me totally confused and sent some red flags. Along with the procedure costing over 10,000.00 here in Anchorage. Not only all of this but his nurse couldn't give me any stats on his procedures. I told my husband about Dr. Berger and he said lets go for it. So we are looking at around august if Dr. Berger gives us the go ahead

I didn't have the implantation out right... Dr. Berger had to do "something special" to get my tubes back together. There wasn't enough tube to implant - and no part of my tube sticking out of my uterus to attach the other part back to. Dr. Berger found the interstitial lumen (tube opening in uterine wall) and sewed my fallopian tube to it. 3 months after TR - HSG test shows both wide open!!! Currently in the 2WW of our 6 cycle of TTC.

Best of luck to you!

Many doctors tell lady's the chance is not good because they do not full understand what is going to take place. I wonder how many lady's your doctor has seen that had a TR. My OB/GYN says I should be just fine to have another baby. My tubes were cut had a 2 cm part removed and after the TR I am left with L/2.5 and R/3.0. Had my TR on 3-24-08 and everything is healing great and there are no signs that would say we can not get pregnant. Like TJ said get talk to Dr.B and the people at CH. Get your reports to them so they have all the info you do and they will tell you the truth about where you stand. Miranda

I wish you all the best.

Hello I had my tubes tied when I was 20 and I had my tr done when I was 36. I had it done April4,2006. I got pg with in two months but it ended in a e/p. I again got pg in two month after I had the shot. I now have a little girl she just turned eight months old. I was told that my chances wasn't very good too but Dr Berger makes it happen. I would talk to him or his nurse I am sure they will be able to tell you what your chances are. I wish you all the luck and you couldn't ask for a better dr then here.

I am a 32yr old who had my ligation done at 21years old after having 3 children from my first marriage. The doctor did cautery on me. My current husband has three children from a previous marriage and we have an IVF baby. We chose I IVF at the time because it was fast and cheap for us and almost a gurantee to get pregnant. The doctor who had done my laprascopy to see if I could have a reversal said the chances of me getting pg were slim to none. My thoughts are she hadn't preformed the procedure enough to have a clue about it. So now my daughter who is our IVF baby is now 2yrs old I'm going through the baby blues and so is my husband. I want to do the TR so bad but want to talk to someone who has had the procedure I belive I will need. I just want to hear some good news from someone.
