I too had heard awful things from my sister who took it for a few months. I didn't experience any side effects. In fact, there were months I took it and didn't tell my dh (didn't want him to feel pressured to bd on demand - he just thought I was feeling extra amorous on those days ). It changed me so little he didn't even notice. Good luck!

kwilson- I wasn't monitored with the ultrasound. Instead my doc did some bloodwork levels about a week after I thought I had ovulated to ensure that I had. (Some ladies have clomid to create multiple follicles and then get a trigger shot so that they will release multiple eggs during one cycle. I didn't do the trigger shot.) Bonnie

Hi ladies I took clomid days 4-7 and then did injections 3days. The only effect I had was some hot flashes. And I took it at night, that is what they recommended. Congrats Amany4me on your pregnancy.. Good luck Kristie. Im sure if you have any other questions there are lots of ladies that can help.. Baby Dust to all...Kari

yes the later the better, the first time I took it I had to go straight to bed, that was 50mg, we uped it to 100mg 3 months later and I got pregnant that cycle, I am now 13 wks.

I took clomid for two months with no side effects at all so don't be scared. They do monitor with ultrasound to see how your ovaries responded , or the number of follicles. Rhonda
I didn't ovulate regularly a few years ago when first TTC and after a year, I took 50mg Clomid one month and ended up having twins! I remember reading horrible things about it, but I did not have bad side effects...but I was also very excited to be trying it...so maybe I didn't care? If you are having ovulating issues or irregular cycles or can't pinpoint when/if you ovulate (or whatever the issue)...it is so worth a try...and the benefits far outweight the side effects.

Ive heard all the horror stories too thats what made me so nervous. My dr didnt say anything about monitoring with an ultrasound. Is that required?

I took 50mg of clomid for 5 cycles. I had headaches, hot flashes and mood swings. If you asked my husband, he would tell you that I was not a nice person during that time. I never got pregnant when I was on it BUT even with the side effects I would never discourage anyone from taking it. Anything is worth a try. Good Luck!!
