Thank you guys so much for this board. I am learning so much from all of you. I'm going to see my gyn as soon as possible (not the one that did the TL). I now have hope. I now have my light at the end of the tunnel and it is thanks to you girls. Stay strong girls. I signed the petition and am telling as many people as I can. I will do all that I can...I will talk to as many people as I can till I know that the law has changed. We can make a difference...I know we can!!!!!!
My love to each and every one of you!
THANK YOU!!!!

Hi everyone,

I am new to this list - but am reading these posts w/tears in my eyes! I can not believe what I am reading!! I don't know if I want to cry because I'm no longer alone (and crazy) or because there are so many women that go thru what I do every month?!

I had my tubal done on 9-9-99, when I had my 4th daughter by c-section. The only risks I was told about were the surgical risks. Before my daughter was one I was at the OB/GYN begging to have the tubal reversed! My periods where horrible - painful, heavy, clots, migranes, severe right-side pain (I haven't been able to sleep on my right-side since the tubal!). Add to that the PMS - which I NEVER had before the TR - and I was miserable! [Mad] The OB/GYN told me is NOT related to the TR and that I was just getting older and should expect those things - I was only 27 yrs old!!??

A few months ago, I asked my husband what he thought about having more children (we have 4 girls now 11,10,7 and 5). He knows I regreted the TR decision about 6 months after it was done, and the ache that our family is not yet complete just keeps getting stronger and stronger. Although he's content with the size of our family - he agreed.

That inturn led me to Dr. Berger's web-site and ultimately to this PTLS information. I have a very bad back, resulting from an auto accident 3+ yrs ago, and take pain meds. daily. So wether or not I'm able to safe concieve is yet to be seen - but after reading about the PTLS, I know it will be worth every penny to have my life back!

My TR is scheduled for Feb. 7,2005 and I'm getting chocked up just knowing that after that date - my whole life will change and with God's blessing we may also be able to add to our already wonderful family! [baby]

Sorry this got to be soooo long - it just feels so good to know I'm not alone! Good luck to all of you and I hope we are able to warn other women before they make the same mistake we were lead into.

On a side note - I talked w/an expectant mother who was going to have a tubal after del. I told her of the information I read here and she was so shocked and Thankful! She will now pass that issue onto her husband. So...this site did already save one women! Way to Go ladies!! [celebration]

They don't recognize it as a diagnosis (no code for it) so, no, they won't pay. Most doctors do not recognize PTLS as a real problem. They like to tell us we are imagining it and it's due to our age. (BTW, I'm 29, so I'm pretty sure I'm nowhere near menopause.) When I had my TR, my symptoms got a lot better, including my terrible migraine headaches. I would highly recommend Dr. Berger. He and his staff are awesome. Good Luck!

Hi guys! I'm new to this board but WOW it's like you all were talking for me. I never realized I had PTS until I happen to me looking online for info about TR. My husband and I are looking into the TR to both have another baby and for my health and peace of mind from the PTS. Has anyone had any experience with an insurance company being willing to pay for the TR b/c of the PTS?

I would have to agree with all of this. I had my TL in 1998 (no children) when I was married to a man who didn't want any and I thought, well, then neither do I--God, I'm glad I'm not that stupid anymore!!!!

Anyway, after having my TL I became what he wants to call psycho [Smile] (needless to say, he's gone and new hubby probably still thinks I'm a bit psycho, but understands, as he reads this thread too) and we are scheduled for TR 1/28. Not only are we hoping for a BFP, but waiting to get rid of the junk that went along with a TL that of course, nobody tells you about. I suffer migraines to the point of seeing my chiropractor more times in a year than my insurance covers...UGH! That works, but I'd rather not have them at all!

Best of luck to you who are scheduled, waiting to schedule and waiting for those BFP's!

Hello everyone and welcome! I started this thread in March '04 and have not been able to fund my TR as of yet, but I'm closer [Razz] . Weight gain has been a huge issue with me. The bigger I get the worse my symptoms are. I have also noticed headaches(really bad 2or3 days b4 period), loss of sex drive, back pain and a general feeling of losing my mind [Eek!] . I have monitored this site for nine months and have no doubts that this will be my solution. I want me back. It helps to know you are not alone and definately not nuts!! Good luck to everyone and lets keep in touch. I look forward to more fantastic results. [Cool]

I exercise more...AND NOTHING!! [Roll Eyes] Makes me crazy! I gotta save for this TR so I can get my life back to normal ... Its just nice to know Im not the only one...and I want to thank everyone who is posting...for a long time I really did think I was crazy or because I had my children young as some ppl say, or now that I am 30...all those excuses ppl use...but now I see this is a REAL problem and not a figment of my imagination....hugs to all [Love]

HMMMM.......I've never associated my whacked out periods and messed up hormones with with my TL. Things are starting to gel here...within a few months of my TL, my periods went whacky. My NP ran some tests which showed what she called a "fsh/lh inversion" and she attributed it to stress (all this was going on while I was going through a BRUTAL divorce).
I'm off to do some reading about PTLS.

I had my TL about 3 years after my last baby was born so I too got back down to my normal size within 3 months of birth. Within 8 months of my TL,I put on about 20 pounds. I am just now putting all of this together. I know a TL messes with your hormones so could a TL mess up your metabolism as well, HMMMM!! I am trying hard to lose this weight before my TR but it seems to be hard to do. I just thought it was due to getting older but now I will begin to research this PTLS a little bit deeper.
